      Kiefer Sutherland is taking over for David Hayter as the voice of Snake in MGSV.

      This better be another one of Kojima's dirty little tricks. ;_;

        Interesting point someone made on twitter. Kiefer never ever calls his character by name, just simple 'this character'.etc.

            But he himself, never refers to it. I don't know - people clutching at straws I guess.

            I personally feel that Keifer is playing BB, and David Solid Snake, (because I do believe this game will lead into MG)

                  Wonder where the haters were when Hayter didn't voice Big Boss in MGS4 or Solidus in MGS2
                  Either way, I wouldn't be surprised if Hayter's in this one too. After all, we've only seen one Snake so far. ;D

                    In MGS2 he voiced Snake, same as in MGS4, so fans got Hayter as Snake in those games. I think what is annoying a lot of people is the Japanese VA is being kept while Hayter seemingly is not.

                    I'd like to see Hayter keep his role, but frankly the VA is the least of my concerns after PO, MGS4 and PW stories, the gameplay of PO and MGS4 was rather crap too. PW was fun to play at least.

                    • How can you like PW gameplay but hate 4's? 0_o

                      And Stars: if hes not Snake, then what other character is he talking about? he did mention the character had an unbelievable legacy.

                      God.. I can't wait for this. Imagine if MGSV ends with a black screen and a voice is heard: This is Snake (Hayter)... I've reached Outer Heaven.

                      • Well I actually think Metal Gear Solid V will encompass, Phantom Pain, Ground Zeros, and also remakes of Metal Gear 1 and possibly 2.

                        Which is where Hayter would come in. It's still too strange, it's almost like everyone is trying to hard with the façade. The Avi Arad (I utterly loathe this person), "A friend of mine used to be Snake, but Kiefer is in a class all by himself" is way too scripted to be genuine, and Hayters continual hints betray his behavouir. Something is happening.

                        And if not, then fuck Kojima. I treasured this series once upon a time, but since MGS4 (I loved it folks, sorry), all i've seen is decline, from the disappointing Peace Walker, to the often terrible Rising.

                        • MGSV= 4 games? I don't think so.

                          More like MGS6 = remakes of MG1 and MG2.

                            PW was more like the older games in feel, didn't interupt gameplay with cutscenes every other minute like 4, the base building/skill building deepened the game progression, there was certainly a lot more 'game' to PW and the co-op was really fun.

                            • My problem with these games has never been the gameplay (though I question removing stuff that was in MGS3 from MGS4 like interrogation and making it Westernised) it's how satisfying the experience is overall as a story and ... well, a full game. MGS4 has a horrible story and feels like half is missing when you get to the later chapters and suddenly exploration is dropped. Peace Walker I can't like at all. I realise it was PSP, but the endless boss battles are awful. For a series famed for it's boss characters, stripping them away and replacing it with that is just crazy. I hope Ground Zeroes turns out to be fun, but the signs are it will follow from these others in play style and writing etc.

                              • Hayter should never have been Big Boss to begin with. John Cygan should've been all over that.
