So what was gaming's "Battleship Potemkin" moment, "Cabinet of Dr. Caligari" moment, or "Great Train Robbery" moment? This is an empty remark by whoever made it.

I dunno man, it would have to be highly evocative, stylized, and well done in terms of plot and with gameplay mechanics which are integrated with those qualities. I think Silent Hill 2 and 3 have already achieved something on the level of that, beyond maybe the lattermost category.

No less, I'm looking forward to it and honestly aching to play that demo.

Can reviewers stop doing this? It's so incredibly awkward when they do that. I've really enjoyed and let myself be impressed by most content I've seen so far, but statements like that are always so friggin awkward - and that's coming from someone who does comparisons of stuff all the friggin time to highlight/achieve something.

Everyone's looking for that perfect quote that'll become the box quote of sorts. Not to mention how video game media is mostly a joke and it's always hilarious to see how easy it is to impress "non-gaming media" with stuff (Which is both a bad and a good thing; You'll blow their minds with a standard AAA title, while they're often also able to enjoy an "average" release, as no party pooper dropped by to inform that it's "apparently" a bad game.)

With that out of the way; The Last of Us is an impressive game, stunning in many ways, I'd dare say it's a "must try" and I hope people go for the Survivor difficulty ;D

I liked it a lot. It'd be cool if there was an RE game like this. Maybe have people trying to escape Raccoon City and they have to be super cautious.

Glad to see someone combine stealth with "fear/horror". Always wondered why that's such an underused thing. (Impatiant players)

          Fuckin' clickers.

I felt like Manhunt did that well, but that was eons ago.

I didn't know this game has multiplayer too - too bad it looks not a lot of fun - much like Tomb Raider's and Uncharted's.
One screenie looks like a COD game in the snow with sniper rifles - phhf

Single Player all the way unless I can be persuaded otherwise. Sucks I can't play the demo - unless its been made public on PSN already?

                  Promising.

Still waiting for LEVEL to do their review(s). They're still the ones that do the best "technical/analytical" reviews of stuff (love how they almost always have two people with different taste review the same game + have a mandatory "+ - ! ?" system next to the main review's score. Only magazine I ever really care much for the reviews from, even when they do joke reviews (Double Dragon II XBLA )

This game seems to be the bomb. I'm seeing so many critics giving it a full score already that I do want to preorder this. Does anyone have an idea what would be the 'definitive' edition? I know of two different collector's editions but that doesn't have too much playable content in comparisson to the standard edition. I thought of maybe getting it digitally...

If you're in Europe the Joel/Ellie editions are the best we get, I got Joel Edition but only because it was £4 more from Tesco, and I got GoW:Ascension at same time for only £4.

Without any offers/promotion I'd have just gone for vanilla edition.

80 € seem like a lot of money... So I'm not sure yet...

Dunno about the UK or other countries, but Scandinavia's GameStop stores got the "Do it yourself" Kit version of the Collector's Editions (the statue). Grab the statue seperately in a box that has a slot for the game on top (same that was done with Max Payne 3's C.E. here + The Zombie Bait edition of Riptide). Too bad GameStop here only got the Joel Edition, though. (Not sure if anyone else carries the Ellie edition here, since Joel was a GS exclusive here)
