I am loyal to Sony so I guess I'll have to buy one. I wish that they had waited another year though.

Funny thing is, some ppl are complaining about the controller for being too different or ugly. So I guess they did change it. Just enough to annoy the purists.

But it needed to be this way. Sony could not afford to let MS take the lead again. That was the plan all along.Stuff to remember: Avoid forums if you're having a bad day.

I hope they never change it to be honest. I find the 360 controller an utter travesty. It's literally good for nothing apart from FPS's or driving games (for me).
Playing a fighting game or something like Rising Revengeance is nigh on unplayable for me on anything other than a Dual Shock.http://www.projectumbrella.net The BIOHAZARD/RESIDENT EVIL Compendium

I don't mind that they didn't change the layout of the controller. I like the was the PS-PS3 controller feels and functions, so why fix what isn't broken? I think the new shoulder buttons look excellent.

According to a developer on Watchdogs, the shoulder buttons and analogs on the DS4 are "tighter" than previous controllers. Fuck yeah!PROJECT Umbrella - The BIOHAZARD/RESIDENT EVIL Compendium

Can someone please tell me whether PS4 games will be rendered natively at 1920x1080p30 or 1920x1080p60? It's 2013, so one of these should be the new standard, but I want to make sure. Anything lower than 1920x1080 at this point is ridiculous, considering how immensely powerful the PS4 will be.

Sony says that not all PS4 games will be available on a retail disc, but will only be available digitally. They will try to focus on having games be available digitally than on a disc. But they are not saying that discs will be no more:
"We're shifting our platform more and more to the digital side--PS4 will be similar to PS Vita in that every game will be available as a digital download, and some will also be available as a disc.
The Witness will be a digital release and because of the flexibility of the digital distribution scheme, we can have more small games that might be free or available for a couple of dollars, or different services like free-to-play or subscription models."Originally posted by aris13 View PostDeep Down is Dragon's Dogma 2 right?

Anything more than that would be too unstable.Stuff to remember: Avoid forums if you're having a bad day.

^ It is much greater strain on the hardware, yes. Also with those specs and the fancy controller and everything, I can't see this going well for Sony in terms of a price point. It could be another "$599 US dollars! $599 US dollars! $599 US dollars!" situation, where even at that price Sony loses money out the ass on each console sold. Also, another little marring on the reputation.
Sony Revises List of Third Party Developers Down Considerably
During Sony's PlayStation 4 announcement conference they briefly advertised an image that demonstrated the sheer number of third parties purportedly working on PlayStation 4 games. Afterwards, they followed this up by publishing a complete list, which we reported on here. That list contained almost 150 names, 53 of which are developers based in Europe.
But today Sony revised the number of European PlayStation 4 developers down quite considerably, from the aforementioned 53 to 28. It seems that Sony got a bit ahead of themselves. VG24/7 are reporting, for example, that Mojang's inclusion was an 'error on Sony's side', and according to them the same applies to a number of other developers. Likewise Gamasutra even reported that 17-bit, despite being included on the list "does not have a PS4 dev kit as of yet, although that's not for lack of trying".
It begs the question of how many Japanese and American developers are also on the list that shouldn't be, and why Sony felt the need to beef up the list when it would very quickly be disputed by the developers themselves.Last edited by Canas Renvall; 02-25-2013, 10:38 PM.
