  • Brand new Deus Ex title on the way? (Excited)

Anyone here who has played Deus Ex can agree that it's a pretty damn awesome series of games. (Unless you have no taste... or soul) Well, it looks like Squenix is slowly gearing up for the production of a new entry in the series. A couple of weeks ago Square Enix Europe quietly registered three new domain names; DeusExTheFall.com, DeusExTheFall.net and DeuxExTheFall.co.uk.

There is a good possibility that this is a sequel to DX:HR, possibly bridging the gap between HR and DX. Is there anyone else as excited about this as me? XD The escapist has a really good article on the subject, go check it out.

    It's a movie.

EDIT: Nah never mind I'm wrong. Movie's name is DE: Human Defiance.

Which will most likely be utter crap. Video game ports to the big screen are almost always horrid.

Sure why not, I could go for some more of that.

In other news they're stating that the WiiU version of DEHR will have visual updates and fixed boss fights, which while it's good for them seems like something that should have been patched a year ago for everyone else.

Yeah, I read about that. As much as I love HR, I couldn't see buying a WiiU just for it. Hell, I haven't personally invested in a console since the 'Cube. xD

All of the DX titles are good, but something about Human Revolution's stealth system and just the overall narrative made it really special. There were some places that the game fell down, in my opinion. I hope in the next installment they can make the choices the player makes more substantial in changing the narrative. In my opinion, the only two choices in DX:HR that made any real difference were Spoiler:

And the ending[s], while good, were less than what I had hoped to see.

Oh, and Adam Jensen needs to be the protagonist. Period. xD

Its not in the cards, it seems:

Eidos Montreal's Emile Pedneault, game designer on the Director's Cut of Deus Ex: Human Revolution, tells Penny Arcade Report the improvements planned for the Wii U version of the game aren't currently in the works for Xbox 360, PS3 or PC.
BTW, here are some of the improvements in that version (Wii U):

Not a simple port: "“Our goal right off the bat was not to make a port. We really wanted to take this opportunity working on the game again to just change what was ehh, so-so with the game and bring some new features to the game”

Graphics are better: Wii U hardware allowed the team to feature a new lighting system, improved fog, improved shadows, and antialiasing. “Right now, this is the best-looking Deus Ex,” Pedneault said. “It's even sharper than the PC version.” - Oh those are fighting words!

The improvements include graphical updates, goodies like a strategy guide and – easily the most important tweak – a reworking of those abysmal boss fights. The farmed out boss fights have now been reworked in-house by Eidos Montreal, as was the case with "The Missing Link" downloadable content.
Stuff to remember: Avoid forums if you're having a bad day.
