Apparently you need smartglass to get the full product, or access to it anyway.
I've seen people complain about these features already (mainly after UbiSoft's showed tablet integration in a bunch of games) -- but what do people expect? Integration of additional features, but without actually taking advantage of said feature in a way that justifies its existence? (So they can bitch about it being present but not bringing anything extra/new/whatever?)

Just saw this, found it an interesting read.
Sony +1
Microsoft -1
I am not anti-multi-player, and I do enjoy playing games with others as most people do (especially MGO & Outbreak). But if you think of your social life as an onion, the scope of social gaming need only reach the people with whom you actually play, and not radiate towards the outer layers like Twitter, Facebook, Myspace, etc. Otherwise, the implication is that practically everyone you know would give a flying fuck about your video game achievements, memories, and inside jokes.
Am I alone on this? Do a lot of you play games with your IRL and FB friends often? Maybe I am just a "closet gamer" who doesn't like to bring his little personal fantasy world into the open.

^Wonder if we could get an actual credible inside source to comment on the game sharing function. But if that's the way it would've worked (in most cases), then it's indeed balls. (To me, it sounds like that's how it "should" work when you don't have online access on it, like the timed PS+ demos, I suppose)

Call me old-fashioned, but I don't want to bloody tweet every damn thing I do in a game, much less share stupid video captures of it, or have several PIP boxes blocking my view. "But no one is forcing you to do that stuff!" one might contend; "thank heavens" I concur.

Some of the MS staff on twitter have already been denying the timed demo thing of the family share.
Interesting to note too Eurogamer's Digital Foundry has noted most first party One titles are playing 1080p at 60FPS where as Sony's first parties are looking mostly to be 1080 at 30f. Unless Sony is going back to forcing 3D in their games I'd love to know why that is.

There is debate that some of the first party titles weren't running on PC though, which I assume is why DF looked at their games only and not the 3rd party ones. They also seem to have had good contact with the materials themselves as far as the MS stuff goes, so I assume this is why they'd be discussing it. In any case you don't need to take my word for it, there are several articles on there worth looking at:
Edit - I missed hearing it probably in the glut of negative comment about the Xbox One reveal but MS intends all their main first party will run 60fps when the console launches. If true the running on PC now is negligible, the point is its supposed to be that when the games arrive at the end if the year. I struggle to see why Sony would struggle to match this intent given the similar setup of their console with more RAM. But I guess it will come out in the wash eventually.Last edited by Rombie; 06-22-2013, 01:20 AM.

It is worth noting that some devs like Sucker Punch are looking for a solid 30 so that they can focus on more detailed effects, filters, lighting etc and the like. And in the above link the PS3 article talks of how impressive the game looks that may mean that higher frame rates aren't always that important, and Sony will just let each dev decide what's important to them than setting a standard for its own studios. I so suspect just like they are now even with the increase in rez they'll continue to be all over the place between games. Maybe as far as the E3 went it was just important enough to show the games running on actual PS4 hardware than caring about the frame rate of products still well under development.
