There was no tie this generation, Wii won overall.

I'm actually unsure how this generation is gonna spin. I dunno who will 'win' and who will be 'successful'. I'm leaning onto the PS4 myself, but I wanna see some games - so I'm gonna wait at least a year before I pick up a next gen console, I still have a big back catalog of PS3 and PC games.

When it comes to the handhelds this gen, I love my 3DS and so far the exclusives have been amazing experiences, I'm just disappointed that Vita isn't getting as much attention as it deserves - it seems Sony doesn't even care about it. It's got solid games but it could do with more titles that will grab peoples attention.

But it died years ago while PS360 are both still doing well and sell tons of games. Not sure you can really call this a win... Do we know the number of games sold on each system?

Exactly. Not to mention that wii is *very* underpowered. Ive played PS2 games that ran and looked better.

But none of them looked as good as Metroid Prime 3, Silent Hill: Shattered Memories, or Super Mario Galaxy. (The latter of which I'd dare to say is one of the visually best designed games this gen.)

Wasn't Silent Hill released on PS2 as well?

Only SH2,SH3,SH4,Origins and shattered memories hit PS2.
SH1 was PS1 exclusive, and still is.

SH Homecoming, downpour, and HD collection were PS3 and that terrible book of memories was PSvita.

Yup. And it looks like a PS2 game when compared to the Wii version *ba-dum-dysch* ;D

Guys, guys, the Ouya will obviously be the big winner, they even have a E3 presentation (well, sort of)

The ouya is actually good for what its worth. Ive got a dev unit, great for emulation of older games and stuff. I also love the free to publish aspect. Perfect to help amateur game developers get noticed, because its free to publish, unlike consoles and android/ios. (Both android and IOS have the same fee, last i heard it was $20 a month)

The console in which allows the user to play used games in thiis generation will definitely win, unlike the xbox one at the moment !
Edit: Did sony really learned from the xbox devastating mistake of restricting used games !

Thats a rumor most likely. Probably generated by an xbox fanboy or microsoft employee to throw shit on sony because their jealous that sony is getting praise over PS4, while microsoft is getting shit over xbox one.

I don't have exact numbers in-front of me, but the original Wii is outselling the WiiU, big-time; it's numbers are almost/about on-par with PS3 and 360.

It may not seem like it, being ancient an everything, but the Wii is still extremely popular.

Sheep-talk aside, numbers are everything. I can give so many examples of failed products that could/would have tanked entire companies, had they not cancelled said product.

The same people buying the same games over and over is nothing more than a ticking statistic, in the view of investors and most CEOs.

Love, love love Metroid Prime 3... but, it was too blue. Regardless, some of those planets were absolutely stunning to behold. Plus, those controls.
                              I'm a blackstar.

Wii is more popular because of 2 reasons:

                                1. Its cheap (I got a used one off Craigslist for only $40, worked perfect.)
                                2. Its got a good rep because its been deemed a console that can supposedly keep you fit, which is why parents buy it for their kids/teens.
