I thought Sony conference had some low points but overall it was great, especially as it went on.

Only downer is it sounded like need pay to play online on PS4, but I'm already a PS+ member as it has great value unlike XBL Gold. Plus Driveclub for free, pays for itself instantly.

If the no DRM on the PS4 was slaughtering the XBox One then the $100 price difference was raping the bloody remains... but as hyped as people are over these announcements, there are clearly technical problems with stability for both platforms still at this stage just around 5 months out from launch... and who knows what the final product will be for both.

My only issue was Sony touting no DRM then basically sidestepping a confirmation that all Multiplayer is now, like Microsoft, behind the paywall. Personally I already have Plus because it's been an amazing service with the free games every month but I still question how much of an impact this will have for consumers feeling like they have to pay beyond the direct layout. Although if they offer something like a month free with most MP focused games, it might help the blow a little. It'll explain why EA were happy to avoid the continuations of the Online Pass system, they knew what was coming for next gen. Be interested to know if this means a Plus price hike or how this actually works for online publishers. The idea of pushing cloud gaming much like Microsoft has been touting feels more like an afterthought too.

To quote myself from this morning

MS showed a lot of neat games, for a platform which downsides "don't really affect me" and which also has plenty of positives that by far beats similar "closed/restricted" platforms (*cough*steam*cough*). I did enjoy Jack Tretton's little "Freedom" speech (pretty sure he could've shouted "and I ate your children" and people would've still cheered), but ultimately, that being their highlight is kinda sad. I'm grabbing both on launch, but library wise ... the new Xbox's clearly "the one" for me.

The ps4 is 100$ cheaper than the xbox, it's because sony is planning to sell the pseye separately, unlike the xbox's kinect which comes with the console when you purchase ! But the question is, are they going to change their new policy toward used games now or face utter failure ?

Good news, Killer Instinct fans. Killer Instinct is a launch title and is free to play!

The bad news, only Jago is playable and you need pay to unlock everyone else. Everything is wrong with this game, crap redesigned characters, art style that doesn't suit the game and now this.

That Sony vid was a bit of a low blow to be honest, considering how nuts they are in Japan in trying to prevent renting/resale of games. But yeah the whole double DRM thing from Microsoft is a console too early IMO, at least until they start streaming AAA games more rather than using a local GPU (if that ever happens on a large scale?)..

Just saying, I ain't getting either them haha. PC is the king baby.

Probably not exclusives, going by how Sony pretty much always stress and highlight the word "exclusive" when they can in their presentatations, and out of the Square-Enix stuff on their conference; only Final Fantasy XIV - A Realm Reborn was said to be a PlayStation exclusive (PS3 + newly announced PS4 port)
