PS4 is pre-ordered. Even though there aren't any games I'm over bothered for it yet - probably get Watch Dogs for it and be happy at that.

Main reason is though I think having a PS4 and a Vita is going to be a ride that's worth getting on board from day one. Don't know why, just have a feeling.

Don't think anyone but Sony have proposed the usage of cloud/remote computing for rendering features (PS3 backwards compatibility via Gakai) ;D

PS4 for me and I'll probably slightly upgrade my PC for other stuff that aren't on consoles. I might pick up a Wii U sometime down the line for Smash bros and a new Metroid game but Nintendo needs to actually get some more games I care about before I even really consider it.

Not shocking, but turns out the PS4 reserves 3.5 GB for its OS; PlayStation 4 gives up to 5.5GB of RAM to game developers 4.5GB guaranteed, 1GB of "flexible memory".
People who have no clue, but likes to moan about numbers they don't understand the context of might find that interesting in the whole "One has 3 GB reserved for the OS."

People who haven't got a clue might want to revisit an old post of mine where I pointed out why it was a GOOD thing that the One reserved that much for its OS -- the same also applies to the PS4 (Question is of course what the deal is with that 1 GB of "flexibility".)

I always trust that Sony will do the right thing when it comes to hardware; they've yet to let me down on that front.

Their division of RAM seems sensible enough to me anyway.

Even if the ram is 4.5GB that is still A LOT. TLoU was made with only 512MB and the game was a masterpiece.

                  Not worried at all.

It isn't confirmed and these guys made a lot of stated facts lately that been proven false. I'd like to here a Sony comment as previously Sony have said they're wrong about stuff.

Sucks if true though as I don't give a crap about anything but basic features while playing, the only one I might care about is the recording but that doesn't require much. I'm not going to watch TV or video chat during 60s of matchmaking and other such bollocks.

The way which Sony has presented their whole DVR functionality on the PS4, I'd say that 1 gb of now rumored "flexible memory" is probably tied to the DVR and Share functionality. (Always keeping your "most recent" moment in RAM, rather than constant HDD access and such - which would make sense, if they're expecting your HDD to not go belly up from constant access from both the DVR functionality and the game's general HDD access for saving/loading and what not).

Additionally, the OS footprint being as big as that article suggests is a GOOD thing. It's forward thinking - probably to avoid the same cock ups they had with the PS3, when both Sony and its userbase were quite literally green with envy of the OS functionality of the competition and struggled big time with fitting their replication into what little space they'd reserved for their own OS - even temporarily breaking game functionality in between updates in the process.

Microsoft already did this on the 360, and gradually decreased the OS footprint as they kept on optimizing things and adding functions, Nintendo did this on the 3DS, WiiU, and Wii, and Microsoft's also likely to be doing it with the OS on the One, and you can see it on DVR/PVR units, and various media center devices too. In short; this is standard (PS3 excluded) and Sony's probably either playing catch up or just deliberately skipped details like these. In general; It'd be in the consumer's best interest that these tech rumors are true ;p

I suggest reading those two articles/posts (especially Brian's) before posting further comments on the subject ;D

Wish people would just be quiet about the specs, as if the numbers mean anything. The Atari Jaguar has 64 bits!!!1

For all the power of the CEL or whatever it was called, it didn't mean PS3 ports of a lot of multiplat games were any good in the early days. And whichever supposedly has the biggest e-penis right now, I am not touching the XBOne with a 12 metre pole. It's all down to the developers, as per usual. Well and how much the MS execs stop dicking around.
