  • Mighty No.9 Kickstarter(Successor to Megaman)

Kenji Inafune is up to no good. And it looks pretty damn good.
If I hadn't had to spend $360.00 on a plane ticket this last week I would have donated more.

Dont know how many MegaMan fans there are out there, but if you want to help, heres the link.

    Comcept? Are they for real?

If I wanted to start a crowd funded game called... let's say Resonant Grievous... yeah close enough... won't I just get sued?

It looks very interesting and promising, I hope this project see through to the end and gets released. There are so many Megaman elements, it almost looks like a big "Fuck you!" to Capcom.

And I love how involved they are with the fans. Capcom attempted to get involved with fans in the making of Megaman Legends 3, but the game was ultimately cancelled for some reason, even though there were about 50,000 fans helping.

It looks like they are re-using a character from that game. I think her name was Aero. Capcom held a fan contest and then a poll to choose her design, but then they cancelled the game anyway lol.

Who knows? I mean the same artist is doing all the character design so naturally they're going to look similar.

The team has lest that $250k to go before they reach their goal. They had a little more than half of their goal reached about 4 hrs ago so this is probably going to be wrapped up in a day or two at this rate.

                  The forum was dead often.

Wow, really? I heard it was bustling with activity. I may have gotten my numbers wrong.

Main problem with the "dev room" was that it was built around Unity. I love the idea of Unity, I love the staff, I love the people, but Capcom-Unity itself is horrifyingly flawed down to the log-in system. The interface itself is kinda borked and wonky at times. (Gotten a lot more stable now, though)

Well, they made their initial goal of $900,000 in about 2 days or so.

If they hit $1,200,000 then the game will be 8 stages long instead of 6 stages long. I think they're probably going to at least get that far before October 1st.

Was reading up more on the development team and was surprised how many of the original Megaman staff are there. Original as in from the first game original. Quite cool really.

Less than 2 days even. That's insane. I spent 20 mins watching it yesterday just rocking over. It's gone up 500,000 just since this time yesterday. If be surpised even with tail off that by the time it finished they haven't crossed off most of the stretch goals.

Fuck. They hit 1.2 million a few minutes ago. It ain't even day day 3 yet.

If they hit 1.5 million then new game + mode added in the mix(as well as Mac and Linux versions of the game).

I'm excited about Inafune getting the chance to do this now, I just wish it didn't take 18 months to pull off. I know a year and a half for an 8 stage side scroller action game sounds like a lot, but being that this is a Megaman game that means the stage designs are going to be pretty crazy. Not to mention whatever ideas Inafunes had that he was never able to use for Mega man.

I spent about 10 minutes watching it on Kickstarter yesterday, saw it go from 700k to about 780k.
Its almost like the Megaman fanbase wants this?

It was quite interesting to see it go up, hit 30k rather quickly, then doze off for a few, see it suddenly multiply by 10 and reach 300k, to then 400k less than an hour later and then keep on rising all the way to 650k-ish during the first 24hours. Not as crazy as the Veronica Mars kickstarter, but still!

                              Hope they'll keep on climbing!
