The game is looking better since the last build. Self shadowing is in place in-cutscene and gameplay; everything looks great.

The supporting characters do look generic and RPG-ish... then again, the character designer this time is one of their RPG guys.

DMC2 looked like a game which had been cancelled in Pre-production and turned into the mess it came to be by release.

You sort of hit the mark here. The progress was a mess until the game was about 75% complete, but with all that work done, they didn't want to overhaul the project. Instead, they gave the project to a new director and assigned two different producers but it really was too late to do any real damage control.

So DMC2 ended up being the only blotch on Itsuno's otherwise-great track record.

Btw, none of the trailers showed Dante using Alastor and the tower fight was in the game. To the game's credit, I liked the character designs myself and the music was excellent but not as atmospheric as the original's.

devil may cry 1's music was really nice in dmc 3 it turned to rock but it was still good. but nothing can compare to the hallway music or clock noises and stuff

And DMC4 probably will rock too!
Some of the best games ever...Almost perfect gameplay, fun as hell...
DMC2 sucks but has some nice things...two some time comes to mind, Dante's costume and some other things...

I like the anime, but it could be much much better. Dante is kind of soft, doesnt talk much, he's practically invincible, kills everything in one blow...
Oh and i hate that stupid brat...duno where they came from with that little girl in Dante's office.
But over all i like it...i would give it an 8/10 as a fan.
Hope the other 6 episodes kick off better.

exactly! i was thinking what the hell is dante doin with a little girl, he's quiet though he should be more cocky i love seeing trish and lady in it though... i hope vergil will come out somewhere

Don't get your hopes up, im guessing they're saving him for DMC4.
The anime is good, but typically Japanese in which:

1) Cliché male silent/man of few words hero caricature
2) Combat is kept to a minimum to save animation, so swordplay is at a minimum
3) Same formula, Dante gets mission, stuff happens, que guitar solo, Dante kills demon with one hit, no devil trigger is disappointing.
4) Unfunny anecdote at the end of each episode about how broke Dante is.

I give it a 7/10, I love the animation, but they really should have thought to introduce more of a story then self contained plots.

I found DMC3 to be pretty easy actually, only challenge was Heaven or Hell mode *Think thats the right name its been awhile*, one hit death for you if you so much as get touched keeps you on your toes.
