  • Fixed Cam Prerendered Survivor Horror project I'm working on with a few others

Alright forgive me for a 'sec while I talk about my own stuff.

Survival horror has changed. So let's changed it back.

There's a lot of these projects out there and if you ask me we're not seeing what really needs to be done here. A reboot. We're doing this differently than most projects out there. No ties to Raccoon City and the Capcom name. The Alone in the Dark/RE1/2/3/REmake/Zero concept, updated while holding onto some respect.

Some placeholder prerenders I've created recently. I'm going for a very noisy grain look for the backgrounds. Considering that RE0 was the last survivor horror game the noise here seems appropriate. Yeah? It's a distant memory now. Looking around the internet people really don't mind replaying these games every year. I sure love returning to play.

A forest section, these renders are outdated by a month or so.
This area kinda behaves like the RE2 street section. I've changed the dirt colors since these. I actually prefer the way it looks here.

Don't go to Silent Hill. Come here instead.

    Some features:

    - Pre Rendered backgrounds
    - Fixed camera
    - 3D models
    - Real Time Inventory management
    - puzzles
    - focus on speedruns
    - re playability
    - limited saving
    - exploration
    - memorization
    - backtracking
    - hidden items
    - limited ammo and inventory space
    - zombies!

I've never been too big on boss fights in games. I won't be removing them all together but I want to handle those fights a little more freely on the player.
I say free because REs progression system is very linear. But it still requires a lot of thought and overall no playthrough is ever the same. Especially when comparing 2 peoples attempts together. Very different experiences. So I want to run with that. Free progression. A person with knowledge from previous playthroughs will have a great advantage and have a better idea what to skip and what to go for.
