Between this and the SH2 one you also uploaded ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8QYqWQqEAdA ), shows the pace at which the conferences used to be and the pace they entered. They don't allow 11-18 minutes to be spent on anything these days, except for that painful wonderbook segment a couple of years back. Everything now has to be snappy and less than 7 minutes, and only longer ones are allow play demos - you can't have this long with just the devs talking and the odd video.

Anyway, looks like you've been having fun in the Sony archives. Cheers again J for putting these up.

In fact, the Konami segment is longer. Kojima introduces one of the Metal Gear Solid games after the SH2 presentation. But having zero interest in MGS, I have not included this part of the video.
But you are right thought, events don't focus so much on one game only. It is kinda sad.

I will take the opportunity to address a question I get asked a lot: "Is there something about RE3.5/RE4 inside Sony's archives?". My answer is, "I don't know… yet".
If you look at my Youtube account, you will see that I update it in January-February and July-August. These are the "slow" times at Sony, before the mad rushes of E3 and Black Friday. That's when my coworker transcode the tapes into digital files and I have the opportunity to have a look at them. The problem is, these tapes are not stored in chronological order. So he may grab an E3 2003 tape tomorrow… or in 2 years. So be patient and ultimately, we will go there. Hopefully Capcom gave Sony some footage to promote RE3.5, and I'll be able to share it with you

No prob. Just wanted to say I do appreciate seeing these, they're awesome to re-live the bits you've seen mostly low quality videos of, and because no one used to really get copies of these events like we do these days where they're streamed and uploaded everywhere. On that note I'm kinda surprised in some ways Sony doesn't just upload all of it's old conferences online anyway, they like making a big deal of their history of E3 attendance most years, and could easily make a YouTube channel out of the content.

I suspect some people might like the MGS2 one, but the 2000 E3 was a far bigger event for the game. When that trailer was shown most people were like 'the next gen has officially arrived' but most people had gotten over that by E3 '01. What I could say about the MGS2 thing is it would add to the interesting case study of how Kojima lied his way through promotion at both the E3 and TGS in 2001 showcasing trailers for the game that are mostly fake to hide the fact you played most of the game as Raiden, so it'd be interesting to see what he said about the game if he had to talk about it for several minutes hiding this.

My personal memory tells me you're unlikely to see anything 3.5/4 related because all the showcases and announcements happened after the game switched to Nintendo, and outside of Online/Network/Outbreak, the vaporware that was PSP RE Portable (both of which you've got), plus appearances at times by RE5, and maybe ORC, nothing else I think has been at a Sony Conf unless someone can correct me on that. But I've subbed to the channel now anyway, so regardless of when you find anything interesting I'll see it around when it goes up.
