  • High End Gaming

In my early 30's I was a little bit into stereos and speakers. In that world you can buy a system for $500 all the way up to more than $500,000 with a lot of incremental amounts on the way up.

    In gaming that doesnt exist.

In gaming you have many gamers who have no issue spending $400 for a video card while on the other hand you get articles complaining how VR isnt going to do well because the headset is $200 and requires a PC to run.

John Carmack during Oculus Connect mentioned that the Valve VR 'Room' would cost a person around $10,000 and they cant sell that to the public...but wait....$10,000 TVs exist...why not

Thoughts on there being a high end gaming market?

Hook up a Gtx980 in a 84UB9800, a true 4k@60hz hdtv works. To power the crystal clear picture, crank up the power amplifier volume up(insert an unknown expensive brand here). buy the best cables, the best keyboards, mice and re-do all the electrics in your house to avoid any interference in your gear.

thats how a true gamer enjoys life.

Depends on the game tbh. I only consider Alien Isolation a real "current-gen" game (pretty soon they'll have to slap serious warnings on horror games in the future). A lot of the other games out there are pretty shit. I'm quite happy with shitty graphics for now.
