I liked X-2, if you played it properly for the full 100% story, it was quite fun to play.
Besides, its Japanese tradition in development to ASSUME what they want shoved down gamers throats, not what gamers want, its always been that way which is why its so shocking to see Capcom begin to move towards a more westernised community led style of games development *even if it means fans demanding a florish of re-released and remade retro games, which is always good*.

The X-2 battle system is the best I ever seen, but the story is not really good, if you play it only for play is good, but if you want a "deep" game with a solid story is not that good. Like Parasite Eve II, is a short game, but every time you play it is different, when you fight the enemies they do different movement, and you have to "build" a new strategy to defeat they, this make a game awesome. Otherwise Final Fantasy X-2 is not that re-playable, playing it one time and you have seen all that the game can transmit to the player.

I've noticed that all the new games don't are interesting like old games, is like they don't have originality, it's only me that prefer "PlayStation Era" games?

It's confirmed, The Third Birthday is coming to PSP.

It's a pity though, the game isn't canon. And Wikipedia (which I assume got a translation of the only Famitsu article on the game) says that the story involves time displacements and shit.

Which I hope is not true. ;_;

...I can't see how and I, personally, really hope not. i dislike playing with other people and a lot of games nowadays are being set up for co-op play. I accept that, since it's the way things are going, but I do get irritated when the single player campaign is simply a long training stage for the death matches.

Co-Op is way more essentially fun when your playing with a friend your talking to, or a friend next to you. Parasite Eve wouldn't really suite 2 player mode, then again, I only played the first, not sure if the 2nd changed anything.

I wish it was. :p Though I get the feeling if Capcom ever did bring back the DC series, 3 might be blissfully ignored. It really was a disjointed mess. Hell... Dino Stalker/GS3 had more to do with the first two games than 3 did.

As for Parasite Eve... I was a big fan of the first game, but I never finished PE2 because it got very repetitive near the end. Really should go back and finish it.

Why is this game not canon?

Dunno if this is a well known fact or not, but Parasite Eve 1-2 were license products tied in to a book/movie license. This may quite possibly be why this game is not called Parasite Eve 3 and why it is also not directly related/tied in to events of the two previous Aya Brae games.

Well anyway, since theres bugger all info besides the Confirmed PSP release, along with 3-4 screencaps and scraps of rumours I really think theres no need to speculate about if the game will or won't be canon right now.
Then again the pretentious way Squenix release information, we won't hear anything about this until the next japanese gameshow where someone cares to translate it.

"Parasite Eve 3" is not even in production

The game is called The 3rd Birthday, not Parasite Eve 3,because the game is not part of the main games' canon, even though it does involve Aya. I must confess, though, that this game makes me want to buy a DoCoMo or a PSP.

It will be good to see our heroine back in NY, where she belongs.

Again, just cause the titles different, doesn't mean its not canon.
I still have yet to read anywhere which says its non canonical.

Squeenix needs to get off it's ass, release Chrono Trigger on the DS and then hurry and make a proper PE3.

Although if they ported PE1 and PE2 to the DS, I wouldnt be mad :] With the DS's touch screen targeting would be so much easier...
