Sorry for double posting but i need a little help with this game again, or maybe a tip.
I've just been to the old castle and looked through the telescope etc,
now i have to go and burn those goddam roots of evil, is there a quicker way to do this it seems to be taking forever and its really annoying

I'd be interested in everyones impressions of the game. I'm still on the fence.

Have you played it yet Dot?

It is a really good game, good graphics etc.

The only downsights to it are the little glitches here and there, mainly during a driving sequence and the camera has a life of its own sometimes which can get frustrating

Nah, I'm still holding out. From what I've seen it looks fun, but not something I'd pay full price for. Maybe when it hits 20-30$ or so.

That was my original plan with the game but i'd completed all my other games and just decided, what the hell, i'll go buy it, it was only £28 in a store i found which was pretty cheap.
It's also good because it's quite challenging, with those glitches being there it makes the game a little harder, you have to be really careful when driving which makes it trickier and lasts a little longer.
One downsight is you can skip levels as there is an episode selection menu in the pause menu but however you can only skip upto a certain point in the game

I'll grab it now, since I've got a new beasty laptop (2.5GHz Core 2 Duo, 2GB RAM, 512MB ATI Radeon Mobility 3650). I like it in the videos how the fire is completely dynamic. That's interesting, but makes space for a few instances of impossible-to-escape-from traps.

Well i've finished the game, i won't give anything away but i'm really dissapointed with the ending, there are two different endings and they both where completely rubbish, neither of them cleared anything up, anyone else agree?

Is the game a sequel or a totally stand alone story?

i havent played all the others but i don't think its a direct sequel as none of the other games get mentioned i don't think.
The only same thing is the character

So far the game has been nothing but frustrating. The health system is sporadic. Sometimes it can get hit almost a hundred times, other times I die within a single hit when seemingly at full health. The inventory system is whack and the camera is a joke. I expected a lot more I guess. Hopefully as the game progresses, the story gets better to compensate for the controls. Why can't a run holding a burning chair? THAT SHIT IS HOT, YO!

i hated the health system, i didnt understand it at all, once i completely healed myself and then i took one hit from something and i was dead straight away

It wasn't until playing this game that the First Aid Sprays in Resident Evil made sense. This game put into action what I thought the FAS did, but could never visualize it...

I just started playing the New Nightmare on PC.

It's the first genuinely scary Resi Evil clone I've come across. The dark electro beats while fighting zombies are downright creepy.
