    You can get 360 patches?

But 360 owners of Alone in the Dark, at least, need not feel completely hard done by. Eden has confirmed that it is working on a patch which will implement most of the changes that have been made to the upcoming PS3 version. It wasn't completely clear on exactly what would and wouldn't be tweaked or fixed, but it's fairly safe to assume that the control, camera, inventory and driving changes will all be taken care of.

With a release date now set for November, be sure to check back nearer the time to see what we think of the new, improved Alone in the Dark.

Do you have to install X-Box 360 games?

No, usually most 360 games do not require an installation.
Probably because theres alot of core-tards out there without hard drives to warrant a mandatory installation.

So how can you patch a game that's on a read-only format (eg. DVD)?

For that you do need a hard drive. Like Oblivion. If you have the add ons then you need to harddrive to play them. Mind, with a game like Oblivon you need some way of saving of you'll get little from the game.

Yeah, you need a hard drive to download updates and patches.

I might get this on PS3 then. It seems like they are addressing all the issues.

This is quite interesting to see, I wonder if they'll reprint new editions of the 360 version with the patch as part of the game i.e. you can play it with the new controls, etc off the newly printed disc kinda thing.

It's also interesting to see that all the gripes people have had with the game have been looked at and they've actually gone out and fixed them. They're definately trying to make their game better and not waiting for the sequel XD

                    • I think they have to get it right or else there'll be no sequel haha

I'm not sure just patching the game would be enough to make them reprint the game, there'd have to be either a) a substantial ammount of brand new content or b) a complete rebranding of the game by both the developers, publishers and marketing team to make sure the point is rammed home to the buying public.

                            • The updates sound good, but really they're polishing a turd.
The games story was pretty naff to begin with.

                              • Gameplay over story. If they fix the gameplay, happy days.
