Sorry your right theirs nothing "rare" about the Japanese playstation 3 playing region 1 discs it's meant to. It’s still nice been able to play the PS1 & PS2 backwards compatible without the emulation software. It’s also good to be able to log into my Japanese account with early Japanese downloads. Also you can have another account activated.
