Was there no other way these questions could have been answered?

The only reason I felt disappointed was because some of the stuff was setup in previous games, yet they use different answers which don't really fit as well. And I really feel that they didn't need to answer everything. Psycho Mantis was never explain and I feel he remains a much stronger character because of this. Same for Fortune.
Bumping along some of the replies because I finally finished the damn thing... (the drama of deciding to open that local LE got too much for me)... I think the problem is in the end Kojima expects that if he didn't try and answer everything it'll give more excuse for the fans to request him to come back again. I do agree some of the answers were exceptionally dissapointing and some of the retcons and revelations felt exceptionally flat and may have been better off not being explained at all... some of it also fell into just simple fan service. The Mantis fight in MGS4 particular as an example, and Drebin's explaination trying to tie it all in, compared to Psycho Mantis in MGS, is indeed a great example.

Even the idea of remaking RE1 after merely 6 years sounded stupid, and later we found out that the main reason why they went that route was to further test/develop the RE4 graphics engine. They just wanted to push the R&D budget further basically.

There are a lot of prequel possibilities for Snake, and going by Kojima's wild imagination, even Liquid. Actually more potential to explore Liquid's past than Snake's or any other main character.
I concur. You could have more history for Liquid... but also Ocelot, and Grey Fox that would work into the history of the series. I get the feeling though new titles will be post MGS4 or, like Ac!d, take place in some sort of alternative universe.

I'd like them to just make something in the universe that didn't have much to do with the current story-arc. Let me play as a Foxhound member tasked to take down some terrorists or something. That was the beauty of MGS. Interesting characters, nice doomsday scenario and a sprinkle of insanity. I mean, how awesome would it be for a squad based game based around a Foxhound group, each member having special abilities. You could have so much room for different styles of play and so many ways to tackle scenarios. Just think about controlling the original MGS Foxhound crew as an example, it could be pretty damn excellent.

MGS4 assistant producer Ryan Payton hints that MGS 5 will be a prequel. About Big Boss. Again.

Ohh god. Please move on KP. Make something new. I don't even think you should go and make Snatcher 2 now either. or ZOE3. Just make a new I.P.

Upon reading the complete interview: http://www.1up.com/do/feature?pager....=2&cId=3168349 I realize that he thinks Kojima might want to make a prequel due to the gaps in Naked Snake's story.

However he makes it clear that there will be a MGS5.

I wanna play as Sniper Wolf now, she was my favourite MG character.
Aswell as Pyscho Mantis and Grey Fox/Frank Jaeger/Null/Whatever You Wanna Call Him.

Kojima should make MGS5 OUTSTANDINGLY awesome.
Not saying MGS4 isn't, but after playing MGS4...I don't really feel like replaying the game again.
Substance and Subsistence did though make me wanna play it again. ^^
And the stealth is too hard to get.

I felt the same Gradon. It took me 3 attempts to stick with my second playthrough. Just wasn't feeling it. Finished my third last night and I don't think I'll play it again. And MGO just isn't all that fun. It's strange because I loved the PS2 MGO but nothing about the PS3 version feels as good as before.

Playing through MGS4 did make me want to replay MGS2 though.

I play Metal Gear Online regulary, but it gets boring after a while, the levels are really repeatative and there arn't many.

But I agree about the wanting to play the whole series.
When I finished MGS4, I popped in MGS3 and played Metal Gear 1, I'm only upto the Roof area though.

Integral and Substance were a blast because of the VR missions. Integral had the enemy layout randomizer, and Substance had Snake Tales to boot.

You'd have to be addicted to the gameplay to replay a main scenario of any game, regardless of gameplay value. MGS4's replay value stems from online and I don't find it fun; likewise for Subsistence.

Having said that, given the polished camo/stealth aspects, I actually feel more compelled to replay the main game on higher difficulties. Something I had to push myself to do in MGS2. Didn't bother with MGS3 because I had some issues with the filtering used with the graphics (one in a million reaction basically)

So has anyone from America been able to play MGO with European people? I hear that the servers are only locked to language and not country.

Same here, I'd like to actually play with some of you guys for a change. Half of you are on my list but we never organized a game ever.

Indeed I believe it is region locked unfortunately.

Indeed, it's region locked, I've played with German and Spanish players.
It's such a shame aswell, wouldn't it cost them more to have seperate servers? Why not just a worldwide server?

It's annoying, because I really wanna play with more people, half the people who play this game are retarded, unfair and/or biased on themselves.
Not aimed at everyone, just the majority of people I played with.

Also, after 2 weeks, theres like 200 clans.
There were people who spent 20 hours in under a day, alittle obsessive...
Oh well, I'm proud member of a clan called Sharks. ^^
I can't wait to clan games, I love BASE and SNEAK!!!
