Theres a port of doom for just about everything lol. iPhones, iPods, GP32, all different handhelds, homebrew port on the Xbox (in addition to the later-released Doom on Doom 3), and tons of others. If it doesnt run Doom, it isnt an electronic device ;P

DOOM for the XBLA is pretty fun and the soundtrack pulls on my nolstalgia strings. I remember playing Doom and Duke Nukem on the PC back in my middle school PC lab as opposed to learning to programing in qBASIC...

      Good times...

AFAIK, you need two consoles, two CDs, and two controllers... am I right?

If you keep the lid on both PSXs open you can swap the disc at the right loading times to play almost any link-up game with just one CD. I did it mostly with Bushido Blade (which had a pretty cool first person link-up mode).

Makes sense. One of the levels was broken so badly I couldn't see anyway to pass it, so I cheated to skip to the next.

Rombie: Broken? What do you mean?
Scream: That's a nice trick. I'll have to try it.

I don't remember exactly which level or the exact details, it has been 12 or 13 years now, but one of the levels around the half way or just past it has a lava or acid floor area with, IIRC, an exit door half way up a wall. You have to do some awkward jumping and there is a temperamental switch to get access to the exit - the level wasn't correctly placed because it was an existing level from other versions and I don't recall ever having the problem. It was essentially broken and required blind luck to get through as I recall. I think I tried so much till I gave up. It was the only bit of the game I skipped or used any cheat on. If I replayed now I might see something I missed, but I haven't played a Doom title since 1997 or 1998. Never even played Doom 3.

I need to get off my ass and reconnect my X-Box to play Doom 3. Also, I found this out a few months ago and stumbled upon the instructions I wrote down just now :

This works for the XBLA version of DOOM :

This glitch makes it so the game still thinks its in a death match game. To begin, first you have start a level. Since you can not manually select your level, you more than likely start off at the begining of the episode. To make it so there are no monsters, after you start your level, save your game. After saving exit to the main menu of Doom, and then start a x-box live deathmatch game. As it loads the game with mutliple players, you must be the first to quit the game. Load your saved game and kill yourself. When the game reloads, there will be no enemies will be on the level and you will have all the keys like in Death Match. To beat the game, just find the exit. As you may notice, you can't click it. To resolve this, save your game, and then exit back to the X-Box dash board. Load up Doom again, and then load your save. Just beat the level by clicking the exit switch. Repeat for every level except the boss levels, as if there is no boss to kill then you can't beat the level...
