wood work and smithing problems in FFXI

i figured this is the best place to ask this question as it is the off topic thread.

im trying to smith and woodwork in FFXI but i cannot for the life of me figure out how to do it.

any help on what i need to know

Look up the recipes online. You'll need a Wind Crystal and the materials. You start by making really, really simple things, and work your way up. Costs lots of gil to get everything you need.

FFXiclopedia is a great website for FFXi information. There is even some guides for crafts. You can find out the most common items used to skilling up in those guides. Better save up your Fire Cyrstals for smithing. You'll need a lot of 'em for that craft.

i actually figured out osme basic smithing last night by accidsent and made a hatchet
