  • Well, looks like I must have corrupted the save data, so I have to friggin play though the game again to get back to where I was. *Sigh*, oh well. I'm pretty sure I can mimic the same choices I made in my first playthrough without much trouble, so in the end, it doesn't matter. I'll just think of it as having to do a "B game", like Re2, lol. Man, it would have really helped if they at least flashed a warning about "don't quit the game" if you can corrupt your save data. Live and learn I guess.

      • To be honest when i saw a playthrough of the demo for this game I thought it looked boring as hell. Since then ive watched part of a playthrough for the main game (it was right at the beginning) and i am amazed at how fun this game looks haha. Now if only i had a PS3.....

        • Beat the game myself. Honestly, I had more fun with Indigo Prophecy. This game sort of requires multiple playthroughs, too many questions left unanswered, which is kind of against what the creator wanted (saying play it once, and be done).

And as others have said, this game seems to rely on a really strong single play through rather than many many play throughs or multiplayer, which makes me think it'll hit the second hand stores soon.
I might have believed the same if it wasn't for the marketing push behind it, indeed comparable to Killer7 or PN03. But I think you'll be fine. Collectors edition you wont see around at least with the content, but in the end it's only of any use to the first buyer who gets the DLC included and you'll be able to download it off the PSN eventually anyway.

In any case I remember when Sony did this for Extermination early in the PS2's life and that game wasn't as good as it looked like. But heaps of people brought it and then it ended up in massive piles of second hand copies in gaming shops in weeks. I don't think HR will be this bad, but I do expect it wont be what some people were expecting as well.

            • Well I just finished the game and I thought it was absolutely amazing. I haven't had that much fun playing a game in a long time. I got so caught up in the game that I forgot it was a "interactive movie". The killer was not who I expected it to be at all.....I don't know, maybe I just don't watch a whole lot of mystery thrillers. I enjoyed the ending a lot(I believe I got the good ending since I didn't let no one die). The game is simply beautiful, thats all I have to say.

Can't wait for “The Taxidermist" DLC .

              • ^ Sweet, I've been playing through it all day, took a break. I'm about halfway through I think, I love it so far.

                  • Saw a friend of a friend play the demo: It looks really, really good. I especially love the camera. However, I too agree with my friend that the holding-R2-to-walk mechanic was kind of... irk-y. Hopefully that won't bee much of a nuisance.

                    • It has been heavily raining here in NY the last three days. Tuesday morning, a girl was killed at the college down the road from me.

I'm beginning to wonder if these are signs...

                      • God seems to hate me. So I was determined to beat Heavy Rain today. No overheated PS3 or anything, and guess fucking what? It's stuck on the SAME Madison loading screen the first time the game quit responding, and I"m not even sure what the hell to do to restart the game and not corrupt my save data. FUCK FUCK FUCK. It's gotta be the disc--this is just TOO RIDICULOUS! Fucking hell! I've never had an issue like this with a game before. Man, why did it have to be THIS GAME of all games. Jesus christ.

EDIT: Well, looks like I was premature. This time I just waited for about 15mins, then ejected the disk. Fortunately, it loaded without a hitch. Have no idea why it at that particular spot the game freezes when you're playing straight though. Must be that crappy patch I guess. Anyways, I finished the game, and will post later a kinda blog I've been keeping of my first playthrough, hopefully to help compare to other's first games, as well as my thoughts. But I got work in an hour or so, then some UC2 tonight, but otherwise. I'm just so glad to finally have finished it!

this is because heavy rain is being critized for loading problems, crashes, ect ect. some say that not even the path has fixed it.

                          • I never really encountered any loading problems or crashes, just a few times when the voice work was off a bit. Also, I discovered a glitch where I talked to someone with my glasses on and they flew off my face, folded themselves up and went into my pocket lol. Anyways, I beat the game in pretty much one sitting with two 15 minute breaks. And...

                            • ^ I was wondering that same question. I don't think it was ever really answered in the game.
