Wow, I'm surprised there already isn't a topic for this already. Anyone else hyped up for this as much as me? I already have it reserved and I'm definitely turning off my lights and playing this alone at night when I first get it.

I don't know, from the gameplay footage I saw it looked too much like a shooter. Similar to RE4, in that respect. Needs more atmosphere, and should be slower paced.

Looks fucking fantastic to me.

Didn't like the look of it at first, didn't see the appeal. Now i'm quite sure it's gonna be a game of the year contender.

I have not seen any gameplay footage outside the announcement and lullaby trailer (thank you fileplanet) and it actually sounds scary. between this, silent hill homecoming, and BIOshock on the PS3 this year looks to be good to horror junkies

I'm curious, what gameplay footage did you see?

I personally think it fits the survival horror genre very well, and I love how the only way to kill the Necromorphs is to cut off their limbs. I really do like the idea that if you shoot off a wrong part, the necromorph can mutate and become more dangerous which can add to the horror. Personally, I think the atmosphere is perfect from what I've seen so far, and I've heard this also has superb sound quality along with it being extremely gory. I think its been banned in a few countries.

I believe since I saw the first trailer. Even if it is just another shooter game, it looks gorgeous so far and i guess I'll have some pretty shocky moments with it

Well, after watching one of the trailers on my 360 in a dark room, I gotta say, I definitely cannot absolutely wait for this game! I found myself just getting tense from watching the trailer alone, I can't wait for the actual game where I'll be shitting myself left and right it seems.

I watched the trailer directed by James Wan and I must admit that creeped me out, but my mate watching it reckons it's ripped off a lot from Doom 3 (and I can't remember anything happening in Doom 3 at all so I don't know what he's talking about) but I hope this game is genuinely scary.

I need a good horror title since it doesn't look like I'll be getting Homecoming anytime soon =(

ughh, I hate the gamestop I reserved this at!

Of course, the woman who took my reservation had no idea wtf she was doing and somehow didn't type in what system I reserved the game for. And apparently, they're not gonna have the game til the 15th, a day after it comes out in other stores. And my friend who reserved it got an artbook and I got zilch. Ugh, I hate gamestop, now I have to call them to fix all this crap up.

^ Most dates are ship dates and the stores get them the day after anyway. I doubt all the other stores will "have it" that day that GameStop don't.

Well I just called gamestop and everything seems to be fine, they fixed everything with my reservation and cleared up that they will have it out for release on the 14th. I'm assuming I'll get the artbook with the game when I go to pick it up.

Whatever though, 3 more days! Can't wait!

I'm looking forward to the game too. Between Dead Space , Fall out 3 , Gears of War two and Silent Hill : Homecoming I'll be set for the rest of the year.
