A game similar to that aside from it's cartoonish appearance is Castle Crashers which is really a lot of fun to play, especially multiplayer.

Its clear that besides the Yakuza series, SEGA have completely forgotten how to make games, or appeal to their fan base.
Fans wanted Sonic 2d next gen...they got a 3d Werehog game instead which apparantly continues the long run of Sonic 3d Abortions.
Fans wanted a remake or continuation of Golden Axe, oh they got a continuation alright, once again another mundane 3d game which will no doubt score low 6's to 7's at best in reviews, which has little to bugger all to do with the games embracing but a small chunk of what made the original games good.

Sega should cut its losses and give up on Sonic completely, or just continue with DS versions of the series and contemplate an XBL/PSN 2d exclusive game.
I'd have said the same for Golden Axe too originally, its a shame a once great series will be permanently crushed under the weight of one of the mundane beasts the sequel so tries to whore as its sole premise.

I agree Dude. What's with THOTD 2 and 3 remix for the Wii? Where the hell did a port of THOTD 1 get dropped off? It feels too incomplete for me.

Well as dispointing as this game may be im still going to get it and see what I thnik of it but when I read IGN review I think there been to hard on the game just because the combat is not deep does not mean it crap they of get you also get the beast's which is why the combat might not be as big.

            Scoring terrible reviews everywhere.
Serves SEGA right, another great franchaise fucked up by trying to spice things up for 3d.
            Keep it simple -_-.

I actually have a pretty good feeling when it comes to this one.

It's on my "to buy" list.
Even though the studio's past history is a bit wonky (but its staff are all top notch).

If you've got a 360 (dunno if these are up on PSN, though, I guess they probably are + on some random gaming video sites) go watch the Making of/Behind the Scenes stuff. Game seems pretty nice to me.

As people around the web have pointed out too, Play Magazine gave the game a favorably positive review. These are the same guys who gave God Hand and P.N. 03 good reviews too. Two other games everyone bitched about 'cause of bad reviews, but in the eyes of most people with an opinion that matters have been top quality games.

So I guess Golden Axe is either in that category or in the Conan (a game that actually is pretty awesome) category (or maybe even both?)

In general, gaming journalism has turned to crap. You see people bitch and label something as crap if it let them save/load anywhere, if the game offers a challenge that comes with punishment for failure, and you even see people bitch if the controls have a bit of a learning curve.
Makes me wonder if any of these people even got a driver's license or any type of license to operate any type of machinery for that matter.

To each their own, I guess. I thought the controls were just horrible, not challenging.
