Ugh. I really couldn't care less about this game, from what I've seen, it looks more like an expansion pack than a full fledged follow up. Bleh, if enough people pick it up, I might grab it for co-op or online.

My brother was at Gamestop for the midnight release...he got some extra downloadable stuff. I watched him play for a bit...Gears 2 looks so kick ass. And I noticed the AI is a bit more intelligent than from the first game. I like how your teammates can actually assist you when you're dying as well.

You might want to try searching for it on Youtube; it might be up by now. (that's where I go for all the endings I can't be bothered to get where you have to beat the game on the hardest setting for only a few extra seconds of footage... I'm looking at you Halo 2/3...)

I finished the game a few hours ago. For me, the first couple of acts were really boring but the game has really delivered.

I just wish Gears1 was Gears2 and they followed on with a sequel from here. This one just felt so much more epic than the first one, and the game actually had a (somewhat) decent storyline.

Though the game admiteddly draws a lot from other games that I've played, and those who've played the game will know what I mean. One boss fight REALLY reminded me of Del Lagos from RE4, while another segment really reminded me of the fourth Act of Metal Gear Solid 4.

Regardless though, the team did a great job and I am eagerly awaiting the third game if there is one, as this one really set the bar for me and is probably one of my most enjoyed games.

And all this coming from someone who absolutely HATED the first game, huh? =P

One gets the impression that Epic tried a little too hard to shoehorn some emotion into Gears 2. When it works, it's passable, but when it fails, it fails. You won't hear me say this often, but I think 1Up nailed it on the head. Gears 2 is like when Michael Bay tries to tell an emotional story.

Then again, no one actually plays Gears for the storyline, so who am I kidding?

The gameplay, on the other hand, is solid, just as the first game, though I vote Epic do away with vehicle levels entirely in Gears 3.

I should have pre-ordered this when I had the chance. No shop around me has any they are willing to sell because of pre-orders.... Argh. To make matters worse, I went to rent a video game and inadvertently picked up the wrong box since it was behind the clamshell of the game I wanted... WTF is Earth Defense Force 2017?! >:[]
