I'm online with PS3 but my internet speed is only 256. It's fast enough to download demos etc. and play 'some' games online but I've never really got into online gaming...

'NemesisAustralis' is the account I usually use.

        360. Definately. Without a doubt.

I had the same decision to make last year and I chose 360, never regretted it since. Love the games for it, love the online, there are more online players who have 360 than PS3, 360's are cheaper yet a much superior console, and there is a bigger variety of games.

Besides, it's more likely 360 owners will get an earlier preview of the RE5 demo.

So? If he wants a blu ray player he can buy one. That's no reason not to get a 360. Besides, a lot more people already own a lot more DVDs they'd like to play than blu ray. 360 online is much better and if I'd have chosen the PS3 last year, I know I'd have really regretted it. As soon as I played 360 online, I knew I'd made the right choice.

I've had my 360 for a year now and I've not once had the RROD. That was a manufacturing fault with the original 360's, it's very rare for it to happen now. Microsoft also cover any fault that occurs with the RROD. You have to pay for gold with XBL because it's a better service.

The problem is that I would need to pay for the games and for internet on 360
I just need to buy games on the PS3

The graphics difference in my opinion is just visible if u play a game in both consoles at the same time

Honestly, it's entirely personal preference whether you buy which console. They both have plusses (free online play and a higher reliability for the PS3, cheaper console and a superior online system for the 360) and they both have there flaws (expense for the PS3 and reliability for the 360).

I own both, and have had both fail on me, especially the older models.

So, my advice to you, especially since you don't wanna pay for the 360 version, is this: Do you wanna play online a lot? If so, go for the PS3.

If not then look at the Library for both. Which has the exclusives you want more, such as Halo and Metal Gear, and which will have more released in the next few months. That's why I chose a 360 first, because I wanted Dead Rising and BioShock.

Seriously, if you want better online, go for the 360. It's much better. The only downside is, you have to pay for it. But it's only £40 a year. PS3 is free but it doesn't have as many players, as many online games and it's a bit slower. A lot of 360 games are focussed about online, such as Left 4 Dead. I didn't do any online gaming before I got my 360, now I couldn't do without it.

Either way your getting a quality console so doesnt really matter which one toss a coin on it.

I don't care enough for online gaming to pay for it. If I had a 360, I wouldn't play online period. I bought the game, that's all I'm gonna pay to play it. That's why I don't play MMORPGs or any game that's purely online. I want to know that if something should happen and internet dies one day, I can still play my games.

i have used all three online srvices and i find that the XBL is the best service fo r the money, its more stable than WII service and you can actually find good microphones for it unlike the ps3 which is a finicky bitch when it comes to headsets. also after playing COD4 on both ps3 and 360 i prefer the 360 control. i dun mind paying 50 a year for the service because with all the added stuff like netflic streaming its way worth it
