Holy shit. Just, just, so awesome. I can see why it's been taking its time with this fully remake for Half Life 1. And seeing the team now using the source engine from the TF2 Version. It just looks beautiful.

Half Life fans, rejoice, cake and wine will be served!

Except that it will take them another 5 years to finish it.

Its certainly my most anticipated game, ever (bar STALKERs) but I have no illusions. Word is that the mod isnt even done 50% and theres just a f!kkload of work to be done. Dont get your hopes up.

On the other hand, screencap comparisons of locations and areas with the original Half Life just prove WHY it takes so much time and effort. The "easy" times of modding are over.

I take the word of someone who has actually seen the product over what the devs say. Ive been a witness to a number of major mods for BF2 to be postponed and being kept postponed.

To be clear, I read that BMS early alpha was leaked and people checked out how far the progress was, it wasnt that far. Last time a "full" trailer came out a lot of modders dismissed it as not being ingame footage.

Until we actually get to play it, its all WIP.

Exactly, something that completely slipped my mind. So far, weve only been treated with footage from Black Mesa, but the Xen world is something completely different, all that experience, skill and talent will bump into a considerable challenge once they need to start mapping, modelling, scripting, skinning and whatever-- a completely different atmosphere.

Id just take it as something that will come eventually. Not tomorrow.

Ive been following the progress of this mod since 2005, the mod itsself was started in 2004 I think. Thats 4 years of progress. More than most games are made. Considering that the workload those guys face, the anticipation and hype there is and the fact that over 90% of started mods never make it, its hard to stay naive

Trailer is good, but it takes a lot more than that. A demo would be awesome.

I know the last boss model is already done, it's up on their site, so I beleive they might be hiding Xen until the mod is out. Who knows, maybe that is the last part that is in production?

Everything I've seen looks very impressive, but I'm expecting that Valve will attempt to grab these guys before it releases and throw a price tag on it. Not that I would care paying for this, it looks fantastic.

Man, I *JUST* found out about the trailer...

I should really study less and start coming here more... Stupid exams...

As a side note, were those things on the female assassin legs *always* there (i.e. in the original), or they did add that after Portal? o_O
                              (check the developer pictures)
