From field reports that Ive heard over in Iraq, the new M16A4 is actually quite an effective and well built weapon, it fixes all the faults present in the M16A1 that was in service during Vietnam. The US army still uses them a lot.

The M16 just as a really bad reputation from the original, the newer variants are fine, otherwise why would the army still be using them?

    • cause M4 uses carbine which is better

      • I doubt this list is final but there better be more than two sniper rifles. I need my M40. <3

        • The MP5 and FAMAS (first SOCOM now this) make me a happy clam. I never saw the problem with the M16 though, I always found the burst quite lethal.

          From wikipedia:
The M16 rifle family has been the primary infantry rifle of the United States military since the 1960s. With its variants, it has been in use by 15 NATO countries, and is the most produced firearm in its caliber. The M16 entered U.S. Army service in 1964.

the MP5 and the FAMAS makes me happy as well.

the M16 was good for the time it came out hell some parts of the gun wernt even metal. if you dropped your M16 you were fucked it would jam and be useless. thats why the AK family (even though i hate em they are good) and the M4 are used alot more now insted of the M16's and the fact that the M4 uses carbine makes it better as well if i can remember correctly

              • Ive read and heard quite funny stories on M16 perfomance in Afganistan. At 300 yard distance, US troops are effortlessly picking headshots while OpFor struggles to land a single bullet even near their targets. The problem with M16 is that its just not a universal rifle. But if I had to go to war, Id pick M16 over AK47 any day of the week.

Yeah i would too, I'm a fan of the M16, it's a bit unreliable at times, but it's great at what it's meant for. And accurate too it seems. And since I'm interested in Sniping id take accuracy over durability any day. I think AK's are sometimes rather inaccurate.

                      • Wow.

I wonder if there still considering making Modern Warefare a spin off series anymore.

                          • This has nothing to do with it being a spinoff game or not. The game is the same. They just found that the name COD would secure them more sales, and they are right.

                            Nothing else changed.

                            • Doing some final editing to the #MW2 unboxing video. Hoping for EOD release. I'll tweet a YouTube link.

I'm not usually into unboxing videos...but...I'm really excited for this. Could be up by the end of the day.

                              • Infinity Ward's Robert Bowling has your first look at the regular, "Hardened," and "Prestige" editions of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 in this new unboxing video. What makes the uber-expensive edition so "Prestige"? Night vision goggles maybe?

Cally of Duty: Cat Helmet Edition.

                                Seriously, night vision goggles? Really?

                                EDIT:
