      • Haven't read through the last few pages so forgive me if i'm retreading old ground - But Activision have recently announced that Modern Warfare 2 will retail for SIXTY POUNDS here in England (About 95 Dollars). Most new games are 45 on release so this is quite an extreme increase...

Activision UK managing director Andrew Brown has defended the publishers decision to price Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 at £55 RRP.

When Activision originally revealed the price, retailers warned of the effect that the increase would have on consumers, which is £5 more than other Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 titles on the market.

But Brown is confident that consumers will feel that they are getting a good deal with the content provided by Modern Warfare 2.

"At the end of the day, there is a spectrum of what people can afford and what people are prepared to spend. These things are key," said Brown.
Essentially what Mr Brown is saying is that people will pay whatever neccessary to get their hands on the 'gaming experience of the year' - Which warrants the price increase. Activision are trying to squeeze every penny they can from consumers. He's also suggesting that price equates to quality of content which justifies the increase. I completely disagree with this notion and won't be buying Modern Warfare 2 at 60 pounds. That's far too much for a video game...

          • You know, we could wait for Black Friday to purchase our games...

Or is that only in America?

            • I imagine that's only in America... and you have to be up and out the door by 4:30 AM or you're rightly screwed. Hell, we got to Staples by 5:30 and I was lucky to get the last terabyte HDD for like, $100. It's ridiculous. And actually kinda fun.

Wow. I can imagine those are in high demand.

And yeah, pretty much. Everything gets sold out. I can imagine going to a GameStop (American game retailer) and finding that all their copies of MW2 are out...

                    • Those specs are amazing low for such a good looking game!

I'm still getting it for the Xbox, though.

                          • The same guy posted the first singleplayer mission, but it was ripped down by Activision pretty quickly. Some fucking loser posted the spoilers in the title of a topic on another forum so I've been spoiled already, but click here if you wanna hear about it: http://www.mw2blog.com/modern-warfar...-on-justin-tv/

                            Definitely gonna be controversial.
