  • Not that I play or actually have MW2, but I thought this was pretty funny.

The only thing that comes to mind is:

AN EPIC FAIL FOR THE TIMES TO COME.

      • If the maps are going to work with the game, expect more MW maps be thrown into the mix via DLC-s. A lot of people believe that the biggest issue with MW2 is not about the unbalance between the huge ammount of perks and weapons, but the worst issue is the level design itsself, followed by the spawn system (which success on its own completely depends on the level design). Im curious to see how Crash and Overground fare, as both of those are my favourite maps.

As for Shipment. I was on the Shipment hating bandwagon for a long time, mainly because of the same reasons (on PC, server rotations are sometimes ridiculous enough to allow Shipment into the list when the server has a 50 player cap), its overcrowded and turns into a stupid spamfest.

However, its the best map in the game for 1 vs 1. You can literally play 1v1 with any ruleset and have tremendous fun.

        • Got my first nuke tonight, ever since starting to use the Tactical Nuke killstreak a few days ago. 3rd Person Capture the Flag on Rust, 4v4, using an RPD with a foregrip, Marathon-Hardline-Commando.

Got a bunch of kills defending the flag in the first round and got a Harrier, so I waited until the second round started and got 3 or 4 kills off the bat with the Harrier airstrike. I then climbed up top in the middle and used my Chopper Gunner to get 6 or 7 more kills. This is when I started crapping my pants. I never got a nuke before so I was really excited and started camping my balls off and picking guys off as they grabbed the flag.

          Victory was mine.

          • So, I don't know if anyone's been paying attention or not, but the Call of Duty franchise has been in the news lately...for the wrong reasons. The two heads of Infinity Ward have seemingly left their posts in an episode that involved security guards heading to the IW HQ late at night.

There's still been no official announcement from Activision or IW, but yesterday, the 2011 Call of Duty title was announced as being developed by Sledgehammer Games -- not Infinity Ward, the makers of Call of Duty 4 and Modern Warfare 2. This fall's Call of Duty is still being made by Treyarch.

They're literally coming out with a new game every year now.

Oh, I didn't see it. Last I read both sides were quiet. Do you have a link?

                  • My brother RENTED the game for the 360...

And my goodness. This game does not compare to Call of Duty 4 at all. Almost all of the maps are horribly designed, every other corner is some douche camping, they use shotguns from the 1800s and put it in the game (I think this is just stupid. Not really a reason the game is bad)...

I was utterly disappointed, and glad I didn't buy the game. Back to Team Fortress, CoD 4, and getting BioShock 2 over this.

Also, I haven't seen a more horrible community on XBL. Makes almost everyone in Halo 3 my best friend in comparison, and they weren't even that bad to begin with.

                    End rant.

                    • I have no sympathy for West or Zampella. They are the same kind of idiots as Kotick is. The person who delivered the excellence that is COD4 left IW some time ago. The interviews with these guys reveals just how much much of douches they are. Some of their responses are just staggering.

It is an interesting situation, nonetheless. Some claim that its all a marketing stunt to divert attention from BC2 release, but I find that silly.

Yeah, I've heard of them in their interviews.

And that's interesting to know the people who delivered the almost flawless CoD4 left IW's dev team.

A marketing stunt? Yeah, I think that might be a bit silly too, but let's say it was true. Are they successful at all?

Grant Collier, Infinity Ward CEO. Just listen to the man speak, and read his interviews. Its impossible to not to have a mancrush on him, haha. Anyway, Activision got him a desk job after COD4, my theory is that he was directly against the "one game every year" policy which ended up with MW2 coming up with seemingly insufficient gameplay testing and X360 code and error messages all over the PC version.

Theres a 20-30% hit on MW2 player numbers on Steam, BC2 has already gone ahead of MW2 on xfire, so the impact is there. But we need DICE to come out with their statistics, and considering they run all multiplayer games through the Master Verification Server, they may provide accurate figures, directly comparable to MW2 Steam stats.
