"Being realistic is overrated?" If anything, it's underrated. Everything these days is overdone, bastardized through over-exaggeration, and raped by unrealistic physics/characters/weapons.

EXAMPLES: Leon doing multiple body contorting flips through laser grids, Ada swinging through the air like Spider-Man on a cold Autumn night in Spain wearing only a red dress & high heels, Neo flying through the air battling Mr. Anderson (and his oft-imitated backwards bullet dodging), the elderly bald Star Trek Captain teleporting onto an alien planet to fight aliens, Vince Diesel driving a souped-up car beneath semis, etc. Don't you ever roll your eyes at how stupid the excess of these feats are?!

In another thread, you stated that you are big into anime and RPGs. Obviously these are two areas devoid of any realism. So you prefer unrealistic things - giant swords, fantasy worlds, spells, minotaurs, Volvomort (or whatever his name is).

How does your preference make "realism" overrated?!

If anything, the constant barrage of mad, fat, super fly, stupid, dope, dumbass, retarded, bombshit unrealistic moves is getting old. That's why I appreciate realism...because it is sorely missing from today's entertainment mediums.

Who is that guy? Is he supposed to be cool or funny? He doesn't even act like the weasely voiced, short, little white nerdling that he is. His dialogue and mannerisms make me think he's watched too much Chris Rock. It's a shame that he's disgracing that Chicago Bears hat...

He should play Salazar in the eventual live action RE4 film.

As for the answer to this...I don't have one. I would be biased since I have played most RE games (with the exception of the side stories & Outbreak), while I've only played 3 of the numerous FF games.

But, given the lackluster narrative in most RE games, and my fond memories of FF2 & FF3...I'd say your favoring of FF has merit.

He's a standup comedian, I believe. This was at E3 I think... Either way, I found it funny. But yeah, he definitely borrowed his style from Chris rock. He's like, what Chris Rock would be if he turned white. Video Game jokes, haha.

        That was...odd.
But the KH series sucks in general. It has nothing to do with cutscenes.

And yet... It's an RPG... A well acclaimed one, at that...
Yet you think it sucks, and since you're obviously a fan of Resident Evil, you don't think that sucks. Which means there's one RPG that's worse than Resident Evil. And like I said, that's a BIG one.

            Don't bring Picard into this!

Ya know it saddens me to know a lot of people when they think villains of these two series, their minds will probably go straight to Sephiroth vs. Wesker. Which is more badass. Blah blah blah.

When in fact Kuja is more badass than Sephiroth. And a better villain than Wesker.

When I first saw Kuja, I said, "Damn, she's hot. Who is she?"
His appearance alone takes him down a hundred notches on the badass scale. Actually, I think Seifer from FF8 is much more badass than Sephiroth. I mean, he's a sad case of a teenager who doesn't know what he's doing, but at least he had a decent haircut.

I'm gonna have to say Resident Evil has better Gameplay, Music, design and graphics.

However, Final fantasy in my opinion, has better Story, and Character's.

But again, I think it depends on WHICH Final Fantasy we're talking about.

I like Seifer too but Kuja is simply more badass.
Badass is not simply a question of attire. Wesker can wear all the black he wants and sport sunglasses but a true measure of a badass villain is the carnage they cause. Kuja causes around 1,000x more Hell and deatht han Wesker ever could. Granted it's partly because FF is a fantasy game but just comparing manipulation and whatnot, Kuja also comes out ahead.
He's also simply a better character in terms of depth.

And I won't get into Kuja vs. Sephiroth. Been aguing that even longer than I've been defending RE4. That's saying something.

I'm gonna have to say Resident Evil has better Music
Totally don't get this. RE at best has some good tracks but a few of the FF OSTS are the best in gaming history. Well they're a lot farther up there than RE's.

It's not JUST about how they look. But image does come into account. I mean, let's say Kuja's character was replaced with Salazar, with all his personality, appearance, voice, etc, but still caused the same amount of carnage. Would that make Salazar badass?

Look at Darth Vader. he's badass, but he himself never actually caused too much sheer destruction. He was an oppressor more than a destroyer. And still, he's one of the coolest villains in the history of Audio-Visual media. Simply because of the power he possesses and the image he conveys. If Vader looked like this, he wouldn't be half as respected as he is:

Tis a good point. Image is important and I suspect a lot of people never got passed how Kuja looked.

Yeah, but why make him look like that in the first place? That's what I don't get. I mean, what possesses a developer group to say, "Let's make him look so endogenous that people will confuse him for a girl." And it's not like it was graphical limitations that did that. The FMVs in Final Fantasy are top notch. But the guy had curves. He had a small waist line and big, feminine hips. I mean... Squall looked feminine. But I would not confuse him for a girl.
Irvine I did... I thought it was a female when I first saw him. I was like, "Cool. A sniper chick." But wthout the overcoat, I'm sure he'd still have a masculine build.

Oddly, Final Fantasy IX is the only one I never beat, and like as not never will. I remember some random crap from a friend about Kuja turning good and a new end boss showing up, or something. Personally I just didn't enjoy playing the damned thing enough to finish.

Story - Final Fantasy. It's longer, better concieved, better told with plot twists and turns. Resident Evil may have a plot twist, and occasional a slight turn where they forgot to edit something.
Characters - Again, Final Fantasy, since as a rule the characters change and grow a lot more, and are often more believable despite the fact they wield a sword that weights more than they do.
Graphics - This one's a little more difficult, especially given that Final Fantasy has the advantage of being on several discs, but it's probably the prettie game. Personally I think I prefer how Resident Evil looks.
Gameplay - Since it's entirely personal preference, then Resident Evil. I enjoy the FF gameplay to a point, but damn do I start getting fed up somewhere around fight 78,098.
Music - Final Fantasy. I mean, Otherworld. What?
Design - Again, it's personal preference, but Resident Evil. I like the more gritty feel to it.

Kuja was feminine 'cause it worked well. It was not an overused thing (yet) and it worked even better with a few story related elements (such as the fact that you have a few other somewhat androgen characters in that game + there's also a certain little detail about Kuja).

Anyway, FF and RE are just too spread out in different genres to really compare properly.

                                Story:
Final Fantasy - Usually stand alone and with a lot of thought put to it.
Resident Evil - Somewhat tied together, probably made up on the spot and with lots of minor inconsistencies.

                                Characters:
Final Fantasy - Some horrible rehashes, some underdeveloped and a lot of variety.
Resident Evil - A cast that is often as flat as a sheet of A4, but do you really need to know what Leon had for breakfast on his first day?

                                Graphics:
Final Fantasy - Pretty much always been a front runner.
Resident Evil - Pretty much always been a front runner.

                                Gameplay:
Final Fantasy - Plays on the same formula with minor adjustments brought upon it 'cause of the natural evolution of games.
Resident Evil - Plays on the same formula with minor adjustments brought upon it 'cause of the natural evolution of games.

                                Music:
Final Fantasy - Epic scores, cinematic themes and memorable tunes.
Resident Evil - Mood setting background music, most of which you don't really put much after thought to in general.

                                Design:
Final Fantasy - Some breathtaking ideas and concepts and some retarded rotating magic devices.
Resident Evil - City streets and zombie make up, as expected, and retarded kids who've raided the local theater's costume closet.
