I only downloaded Home because I was forced to do so by the update.
You were forced to? That's odd. I didn't think you had to unless you wanted to. By clicking on the Home icon for the first time.
I'm also sure you can delete it too (the icon will probably still be there but the program will be gone if you want)

    Degeneration T-shirts
    Claire or G-monster (I like the G)
I havn't checked to see if these are available yet.

It was part of a system update.

No it wasn't. It just appeared on the XMB after restarting your PS3 after a certain time.

Huh. All I know is that after I downloaded the system update, Home was there. I guess it was just a coincidence then.

^ HOME was included with the XMB update, well the base package. Once you launched it, it went on to download a whole bunch of other stuff.

As for the product itself, it's very nice for a completely free offering, but I'll hardly ever use it. The load times and need to download everything is killing it for me and it's just so slow and cumbersome.

That being said, does anyone know how to get into the specific game spaces? I never could find any of them? Which ones are actually available? I know Uncharted is...

I think you just use the menu to jump there and then do the same when leaving. Uncharted and Farcry are the areas (or at least there were the only two when I last played).

Really? They should be in the locations part that has all the other areas listed. Uncharted has the bar and Farcry has the office and the train station areas.
