    GotY 2008

Atlus > Square (funny since Square is bringing the game to Europe).

Pretty much the best RPG series out there.

I enjoyed Persona 3...and I was hoping this would be on PS3 but they kept it on PS2. I think I'll get it but probably wont play it too much. Then again...a nice long RPG will hold me over maybe a month so that's time moderately well spent waiting for RE5.

RPG of the year, that's for sure.

Not at all. The plots aren't connected. You might miss one of Atlus' references, but nothing major.

I played Persona 3 before playing through Innocent Sin and Eternal Punishment (the two comprise the entirety of Persona 2) and there really is no connection between the two.

The only two games that are connected in a major way are 1 & 2, and only because a few characters from the 1st game end up in the 2nd. But it's still nothing major.

And speaking of plots, the Persona series has the best storylines and scripts in any RPG, ever.

The only possible thing worth noting is that the butterfly in each game is the only clearly visible thing that branches all four games. It's very prominent in Persona 2.

That's good to hear. I'll definitely pick up Persona 3 then. Maybe I'll pick up 4 because I've heard nothing but praise so far.

I personally think Persona is one of the weaker games in terms of Atlus's Shin Megami Tensei games. I was a huge fan of Digital Devil Saga and Devil Summoner. Nocturne of course is probably the best. I spent close to $200 on a sealed copy of the original game and I didn't regret it one bit.

If you're going to get P3, then make sure you get the FES version.

I'd probably spend the same amount on the ALTER 1/8 Aegis, but it's impossible to find even on Ebay.

good decision, but make some space because they're mmmmmaassive games. Also as suggested above, get the FES version of Persona 3.

Yeah, I was considering getting 3. Just haven't gotten around to it yet. Still have to get through 12something games I recently bought. :S

Yeah, when a game has a Special Edition I usually go for that one. It was Persona 3 FES they reccommended anyway.

Well, the artbook that came with the box set version of P3 was nothing special anyway. It's kinda like a skimmed down version of the official Japanese artbook which you can easily buy on PA for 20 USD.

The artbook that came with Persona 4 pre-orders was excellent. It's the actual "Design Works" that has pretty much every piece of art in the game, very hard to believe they packed it in as a freebie.

picked up my copy today still sealed and haven't gotten the chance to unwrap it yet (i picked up tons of games today Spiderman:WoS 360,Sonic Unleashed Wii,Prince of Persia PS3,Castlevania Judgment,), i was close to beating P3 but then FEES came out and teased me with the fact that you can date aegis so i started all over right before oct and then stopped thanks to the billion games that all came out in the last two months .

Played the game for a good ten hours now, it is absolutely perfect in every way. While Persona 3 was a great game, I had a few gripes with it and P4 ironed every single one of them out.

Manual control of the party, unique "dungeons" that relate to the current point in the game, party control via the menu at any given time, non-tedious social link evolvement and a calendar that isn't predictable featuring a more consistant stream of events that move the story.

I love everything about it. The music, visuals, menu, story, style. I just doubt it'll top P2:Tsumi, though nothing will.
