Thinking about getting a 360.

So even though it's a poor console, you stay with the company out of loyalty? Why? I never thought of crossing over to the 360 but the choice was obvious. Barely anyone I know owns a 360, and the exclusives for the 360 far outweigh anything the PS3 has to offer, for me.

Well I've never had any Microsoft consoles before, and I have a PS2, and PSP. Of course though, sometimes you have to explore other areas. I thought about getting a PS3 because it was more comfortable, but ultimately the 360 always prevails for me.

in my eyes a playstation 3 and a xbox 360 are just as good the ps3 has ups and downs and the xbox have ups and downs but i choose ps3 becuse i allways had playstation and i did try the xbox at friends house its cool it really is but not enoufe for me to be all ohhh i must have a xbox

so in my eyes 360/ps3 are both good

I'll be getting a refund on my PSP, it's unopened and unused. I've decided to get my £107 back and then purchase LittleBigPlanet, and sink the rest into funding my subscription with LoveFilm.

Anyway, yeah. The new Jasper chip in the newer models of the 360 (supposedly) completely eliminate the fear of the three red rings. Microsoft finally decided not to be cheap as hell. I've had my 360 since Christmas last year and ironically, didn't get the three, but two red rings last night after I read this. So tomorrow, I can return it to Meijer's (as Microsoft won't do dick about an overheating problem that I've tried everything to cure) and since my grandma bought this one (the Pro) at $399, with my luck, they'll exchange it for an Elite as that's the same price now. They should, anyway. The only issue then lies in how I'd transfer my data from the 20GB hard drive to the 120GB.

Got a 60gb 360 from Zavvi today, was going to get an Elite but the guy was a complete airhead and after seeing him drop a PS3 while serving it to a customer, I figured i'd take my chances with the 360's they had behind the counter in their cupboard then wait 10mins for him to go into the back and pull out an Elite.

Will check to see if its a Jasper chipset later if not im returning it tomorrow morning for an exchange if possible.

EDIT: Lot number 0829 its falcon, will return it tomorrow for a full refund.
DOUBLE EDIT: Phoned Zavvi and gave them a bollocking for lying to me about the lot number, been told that I could exchange it for an arcade or pay more for an elite but after checking the lot numbers there they don't have a Jasper console anywhere in stock and won't take a refund due to their terms and conditions so either way im stock.
They also commented that very few Arcades or Pro's in the UK have Jasper due to overstocking on consoles (Presumably the Falcon chipsets) for the christmas rush, guy was pretty candid on the phone to be honest but after getting a verbal beating for 5mins I suppose anyone would be.

Either way, seems im stuck with a Falcon chipset but at least if it Red Rings on me I can get a refund, and the drive will be useful when more Arcade Japsers go on sale and I can replace the current oen for it and slap in the new drive.

I'd recommend anyone living in London to avoid Zavvi in Bromley/Glades Shopping Centre as a result.

TRIPLE EDIT: Will be using Godfall as my XBL screename and playing SSF2THD Remix and Gears 2 as of Christmas Day, so if anyone wants to add me, fair enough just prompt me that you're from here or something.

PSP, ugh, don't even get me started. Had mine for my birthday in 2006..? I think. Have only had a couple of games for it since and barely ever played it. I think the last time I played it was a year ago. My worst console, ever. I'd rather have a SNES than a PSP.

Back of the console theres a LOT code, its on the back of your box too, you can tell what is by getting that code and inputting it into the Xbox DVD drive database *google it* the site will tell you from your codes and other data it'll ask you to input into it what you've got.
Basically 175w power supply = Falcon
150w = Jasper.

EDIT: PSP is potentially a great handheld but theres bugger all games for it, I don't promote piracy and I own all my own games, but I did get custom firmware so I could play my old PS1 games on it on the go *wouldn't have to if Sony just pulled their finger out and started putting more RPG's on the PS store*

not if you mod it or buy a 4 gig memory stick which you can store tons of videos on , if you mod it then you'll be able to play PS1 games including RE1-3 i haven't modded mine yet and im not going to until i buy a slim or the PSP-4000.

Out of curiousity, whats so bad about the PSP 3000?
I remember reading about something odd about it, hardware fault or something but not sure what it was.
