Gamespot has shown Onechanbara no love.

      Wii: 3/10, IGN & Gamedaily 7/10 (ave. 5.6/10)

      360: 2.5/10, TeamXbox 2.7/10, Extreme Gamer 5.2/10, Gamepro 1/5 (ave. 3.1/10)

The Gamespot review made me realize something. Having played the earlier games, I knew it would be repetitive but pressing the button repetition is one thing, swinging and shaking the Wiimote around repetitively is another thing entirely. I think I'd get damn sick of it, damn fast.

I've always had a soft spot for the series. It's such a cool and absurd concept but I wont be rushing out next week to buy it (next week is Killzone 2 and Dead Rising Wii).
I think I'll wait until I find it in a bargain bin...

The series turned into a bad japanese anime style with those guys in Vortex... the best one is the Xbox360 version, Wii looks cheap. You know, I hope PS3 version gets Oneechanbara 4, and with a lot of improvements... but I think Tamsoft tried to keep the spirit of the previous games with these. I still enjoy the game though I know they are quite repetitives... we already know it's not a great game but fun.

The US 360 version is region free for those interested in importing.

I'm getting a Wii copy free for review from our local distributor - so I'll just be buying the 360 version (which is cheap anyway =D)

So what do you think of the Wii version, JL?
I've read a few people say it's not too bad. I probably will get it at some stage.

Got a pic of the Aya figure?

The WII version has good music (same style like the previous games) great combo system (better than Vortex), but if you are looking for a good plot, plus FMV or Dress-up mode... I guess you'll need to get the Xbox Version... which has better graphics. Gameplay is cool, but you know... wii control isn't that great... you get easily exhausted. It's pretty enjoyable if you liked the PS2 versions because the WII version seems like Zombie Hunters 2. Besides, these games aren't that expensive...

About the figure I was told by my seller that I could chose between two models (the better the expensive it was). I was delighted to see Aya's Vortex figure but I couldn't afford it so I had to chose the Onechanbara one (first game style) which looks great too... it was a special combo for the store (from my country) because you can get these babes without buying the game.

                This one is the expensive...

I hope the rumours about Oneechanbara 4 on PS3 are true... I'm planning to get a PS3 for RE5 so if a Oneechanbara comes to the console I will die happy.

Onechanbara will always be budget though - even if on PS3 I doubt it'll be any "better" besides graphics. The series would need some better gameplay to even more forward.
