I personally love the art direction. It's exactly what I want in a sci-fi shooter, and it is what sets this game apart for me. Also, the multiplayer sounds terrific: 32 players and squad based WITH classes? I'm there. Oh boy, I'm there all day. Let us just hope the classes are more "Team Fortress" then "Call of Duty" in the distinction sense. The only downside seems to be the "you've already done it" campaign and the generic weapons. Other then that, it's without a doubt my "omfg I want ZHAT" game of 2009.

Oh, Yeah!!!
I've started my download (from the Aus. PSN), 1.2gb. Hopefully it will be done when I get home from work.
For weeks now PSN updates have been nothing but crappy Guitar Hero/Rock Band add ons but now we get RE5 and KZ2 demos within days of each other!
I'm really excited about this game. Day one buy for me and I've got a gift voucher at a local shop which is giving away KZ2 t-shirts with the game.
I loved the first game. It's got an awesome style and atmosphere and I don't often bother to finish a lot of FPS. I actually played through it a few times. I liked how you could choose different characters for each chapter and you would get a different experience (although that feature has been removed from KZ2).
You're probably the most diehard Sony fanboy on the entire forum, my friend.
Let me see if I can reclaim my title:
*The dark, gritty, realistic style of KILLZONE is Oh so much cooler than Gaylo, with its 'Master Chef', bouncing around in his shiny new spacesuit and zapping aliens with his ray gun!*
Sucks I'm gonna be playing it on a 13inch SDTV...but it'll still look great.
Your jaw will hit the floor when you finally upgrade.

If you wanna play the demo, making a European account takes less than 10 minutes.
The demo goes worldwide on the 26th.Last edited by Vector; 02-05-2009, 10:56 PM.

The demo was kinda meh. The game's got a lot of nice effects going and does look nice, and I love the character movement and how the gun feels and such, but the overall art direction is so horrible, and the gameplay is damn generic. Shoot explosive barrels on bridge? O RLY!?
I'll still be there day one though, 'cause I need a reason to use that expensive DVD upscaler.

I was dissapointed with this little guy. I live in the States so I went through the trouble of pre-ordering it to get the code to download the demo. It was certainly a solid game and the graphics are about as good as anyone could hope, but something just felt off. I'm a complete douche because I can't pinpoint what it is, but I just didn't have that much fun playing the demo.
I'll get this game used down the road when it's like $30-35 with my Edge card, but it's not worth $60 for me at the moment. Those that enjoy it I hope have a great time with the full release, but the demo left me unimpressed aside from the visuals.

I still don't understand why people believed Killzone 2 to be the saviour. Those guys have made 3 games, Killzone which was mediocre, Killzone Liberation which was, to be fair, pretty awesome, and now Killzone 2. Since when have they made a proper good FPS?
Also, for some salt in the wound, EDGE scored F.E.A.R. 2 with an 8/10 compared to a 7/10 for Killzone 2.
....edge hate incoming in 3....2....1......
