Two years after the Helghast assault on Vekta, the ISA is taking the fight to the enemy's home world of Helghan. The ISA goal is direct: capture the Helghast leader, Emperor Visari, and bring the Helghast war machine to a halt. Assuming the role of Sev, a battle-hardened veteran and a member of the special forces unit known as the Legion, players lead a group of highly trained soldiers on a mission to take out the Helghast threat. For Sev and his squad, the invasion of Helghan is just the beginning. Tasked with securing Pyrrhus, the Capital City, the team quickly discovers that the Helghast are a formidable enemy on their home planet. Not only have they adjusted to the planet's hostile conditions, they have also harnessed a source of power they can now use against the ISA. Sev discovers his squad isn't just fighting enemy forces – their fiercest opponent may be the planet itself.

This game is probably my number one most wanted right now, ahead of RE5 because it comes out about 2 weeks earlier.



The reviews have been pouring in, touting some of, if not THE best graphics on a console ever, a solid single-player campaign, incredibly extensive class-based multiplayer, and more. It currently has a score of 93 on Metacritic.



The game launches worldwide on February 27th.

Anyone planning on pickin' up Killzone 2?

I had a feeling that if there was to be a topic for Killzone 2, it would have to come from you. You're probably the most diehard Sony fanboy on the entire forum, my friend. Almost every topic in regards to games, you're there proclaiming Sony's exclusives. Between Carnivol on one side and you on the other, it's a clusterfuck of console warring. I love it.

Anyway, I've played through the demo and while it was brief, it was also very intense. The controls were awkward at first, though I can see why the set the zoom as the R3 button, it makes perfect sense when utilised with the cover system. Unfortunately, people will bitch about how they're nothing like Call of Duty 4. It's not meant to be. It's like people who complain about ballet because it doesn't make you fart, it's not supposed to! Unfortunately, it's all about comparing.

The whole atmosphere of the game is depressing, it's desolate and miserable. It's just really gritty, very realistic. Yes, that's a positive comment. I'm looking forward to playing the full game, it's a definite purchase from me.

With that said, I'm off to play some Gears of War 2.

First of all, I'm not a fanboy. I got a 360 for Christmas this year, so before that I only had a PS3. All the topics I've posted have been about Sony exclusives because their exclusive lineup from 2008 and 2009 has in store are both stellar. Now, since Christmas, I haven't seen a 360 exclusive deserving of a topic. What about the future -- Halo Wars? Star Ocean 4? Ninja Blade? I'm not really interested in any of these games. Maybe because I've had a PS3 for almost 2 years, and I've been paying attention to the game library, and have only recently been paying attention to the 360's. What I've seen from the 360 doesn't really interest me all that much. I have Fable II and Halo 3 still in their wrapping at home, and when I'm done with school in May, I'll play them and offer my opinion. But until then, you have this.

I'm interested in Uncharted 2, and Killzone 2, and et cetera.. I post about what I'm interested in. When there's a future 360-exclusive game that I'm interested in half as much as these other games, I'll post a topic about it. I'm not a fanboy, it just so happens that I'm excited for exclusives.

And I guess you missed my topic on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and my activity in the Left 4 Dead thread...

As for now...let's just enjoy the hype of Killzone 2. I'm still downloading the demo.

Yeah you did, because I know what a fanboy is...I frequent GameFAQs...and if you knew just how out of line and off-base you were by calling me a fanboy when I'm the farthest thing from it, you'd retract your statement. Question to those who've played the demo: can you change the control settings?

The default settings look "BLEKGH" to me. I'm looking to change it to the COD4 style controls.

You can change the controls, there's a number of both standard and 'alternate' combinations.

I absolutley love the atmosphere for this game. I am using ALT 2 for the controls, it's the best fit for me, while having the HUD and crossair removed. Seriously, I am feeling it. Can't wait to play some online with a few people on here.

God, this thread is such a clusterfuck. This isn't GAF. Wise up, both of you.

The demo was kinda meh. The game's got a lot of nice effects going and does look nice, and I love the character movement and how the gun feels and such, but the overall art direction is so horrible, and the gameplay is damn generic. Shoot explosive barrels on bridge? O RLY!?

I'll still be there day one though, 'cause I need a reason to use that expensive DVD upscaler.
