From a demo standpoint, to someone who doesn't care for shooters, the FEAR 2 demo was far more bland, and both console ones had technical issues that weren't redeemed fully in the boxed retail version.

Given the various reviews and opinions I've read, all this sounds like a personal point of view, particularly the selective mentioning of one review.

I'll still be there day one though, 'cause I need a reason to use that expensive DVD upscaler.
There are much more expensive and far better upscalers out there. Look into it, and sell the PS3. If there is anything I find more irritating than fanboys, it's people who hang on to consoles for the sake of owning of them and use that angle to bitch about it.

The default settings look "BLEKGH" to me. I'm looking to change it to the COD4 style controls.
what's wrong with the controls? they seem fine to me.

i love the atmosphere of Killzone 2 as well, atmosphere is a very important thign for me when it comes to games, and KZ2's atmoshere is great.

The demo was kinda meh. The game's got a lot of nice effects going and does look nice, and I love the character movement and how the gun feels and such, but the overall art direction is so horrible, and the gameplay is damn generic. Shoot explosive barrels on bridge? O RLY!?

whats so bad about how the gun feels? and i loved the art direction in KZ2, it was brilliant.

and the part where you blow up the bride was cool, whats not to like about that?

Also, the multiplayer sounds terrific: 32 players and squad based WITH classes? I'm there. Oh boy, I'm there all day. Let us just hope the classes are more "Team Fortress" then "Call of Duty" in the distinction sense. The only downside seems to be the "you've already done it" campaign and the generic weapons. Other then that, it's without a doubt my "omfg I want ZHAT" game of 2009.
i haven't heard much about KZ2, but i loved the first game, and im glad to hear they have a class based multiplayer system, this should be great,a dn yes, art direction + awesome.

well i haven't played FEAR 2 yet, but FEAR 1 had one of the most dull, bland and boring art direction styles i have ever seen before in a video game, it was one of the main reasons i never botherd to finish it, everythign was just grey, everywhere, just boring dull grey, i hated the atmosphere in that game.

i never even bothered to look into the second one, is it better?

Or maybe it's my opinion? I thought that demo was atrocious...but this topic is about Killzone 2.

Europeans with jobs (or another form for steady income) don't sell their property. They use and toss. (Not to mention that owning a piece of property gives your complains much more validity. Hands on Experience > Most Other Complains.)

People want realism; they get it, they complain about it. Reality, to most, is very boring. Anyway, pump the game up to Extreme, stay away from the Quick Save/Load buttons (the game has autosave/checkpoints, they work well enough) and give it a new shot. (and, oh, yeah, don't fiddle with the brightness settings. Seriously, what's with that?) Never has a sound and light system played such an important role in a game's gameplay as in that game, not to mention how the AI is a f-ing bastard

Anyway, personally, I'm mixed about the F.E.A.R. 2 demo. My love for F.E.A:R. (and Monolith) certainly makes me wanna like it, no matter what Monolith has done to it. But one of the complains I've got about the demo is that some of the outdoor stuff is almost too detailed. To the point where it can get a bit too distracting. (Controls better be customizable in the full version too, as they weren't in the 360 demo.) The effects and the amount of destructible surroundings and such, though, makes me think there's plenty to get in F.E.A.R. 2 once the retail version lands in my hands.

Huh. That certainly was.... interesting; yeah.. interesting, particularly that I still have family in Chester and London. I suppose the similar complaints in real life I've heard came from current Europeans disguised as Asians, Canadians, and Americans because they didn't sell their PS3's and equipment they don't use. I should ask people if they're European if similar conversations come up generally

Trying something gives your opinion validity for sure, but holding one to something when it depreciates in value and complaining about it is idiotic. It has nothing to do with regional traits, and more with common sense. So I stand by what I said, especially if a console or anything for that matter gets little to no use.

Yes, ofcourse, 'cause I obviously meant that every single person in Europe does that and every other person who fits the bill for that is clearly European. Anyway, by all means make reality out of your little joke there. It'd certainly make for some good laughs (I'm sure adding a broad Texan movie accent would make it even better. At least for some.)

Anyway, if you've got something that's somehow faulty (such as a console with no good games), I'd say openly complaining about it (preferably in a nice and polite manner) is the way to go. You've made an investment, you'd prefer it if that product "delivered", and you'd rather not go through the hazzle of double dipping (and having a dust collector) or getting rid of it to replace it with something else that might not do exactly what you want, or just clutter up your shelf even more.

I can do a mean Texan accent, complete with some tobacco spitting

Thing is, this isn't a faulty console nor is it void of good games, since aside from first party content, there hasn't been a generation in the past where the vast majority of games are multiplatform. I've said it before and I'll say it again, owning both a PS3 and a 360 is pointless when you prefer third party games and don't like one's first party games much.

I had both, and the BD player (still one of the best out there) was the deciding factor for me to keep the PS3. Nothing wrong with the 360 or its first party games of course. The games that I waited on were personal disappointments, and instead of it collecting dust and depreciating, I sold it. No major problems with the hardware's famous malfunctions either. Likewise for the PSP when all the games I bought it for ended up on the PS2 or PS3... which was frankly VERY irritating.

Console purchases aren't exactly blind buys for gamers, so again, what I said stands. Granted, there are SOME out there who collect console hardware but they're a minority.

Yup, I think it's been done. Maybe 3 more posts.

You have a point, so back on topic. Great sound design and graphics, yeah.. no install option either.

                            Back on topic.

Killzone 2 looks very good and since I like FPS games I'm going to give it a shot.

Question: Does the game includes any RPG features like Fallout 3?

Nope, it's more or less a traditional shooter with multiplayer focus. I'm not a fan of shooters much, but it's hard not to be impressed with the game's presentation.

All signs point to KZ2 really, really shining in multiplayer...that's probably the biggest reason I'm excited for it.
