Haven't heard anything recently, but last time I checked; they were at least actively working on a sequel for one of their franchises.


Now, more importantly;
Eidos probably still owns the Thief franchise and also Commandos.
That combined with Legacy of Kain and Deus Ex... and, well, you've got some far more interesting things for Square-Enix to dig into. (Not to mention how I bet there are people who'd jizz their pants by the mere thought of Nomura touching Fear Effect.)

I dunno why people see this as such a big surprise, though, as SquareSoft and Eidos had a bit of a partnership going about a decade ago.

Yeah. Did you see the alternate ending to Underworld, where Amanda's leg is broken graphically when she tries to stand on it? I flinched when that happened "ooh shit that woulda hurt".
