^ well, for starters its a prequel, we've already covered the prequel in an animated movie and a comic series, how far could they stretch that :s
and seriously james, an on rail shooter .. on the wii .. ? a port of the original done right would have been better.
and on top of everything the game is being made by Eurocom .. their resume doesn't exactly yell quality.Last edited by A-J; 02-23-2009, 08:14 AM.

DIMP's resume didn't yell quality either, neither did NexTech's and they both produced some might fine games for Capcom too.
It makes me wonder if this game was announced for somethign else that it'd get a little more positive of a reception.

Don't kill eachother now, guys!
There'll be plenty of other stuff to kill when this game comes out! (At least for those of us who'll try to stay positive, yet somewhat skeptic, about this title. As we might at least be giving it a fair chance.)

I'm trying hard to look for positives. I love Dead Space, own the movie and comics along with the game, but this is really pushing it for me. I'm not a huge fan of rail shooters but if there is one place they belong it is the Wii. The nunchuck does make them fun to play, as Overkill has proven. So I'm trying to get over my initial disapointment of that.
But I can't help but have a bad feeling about this being a prequel even now. Aegis VII is somewhere I've seen a lot of, and a second game set there...I really don't see how it's gonna be done, storywise, without shitting on the fans who bought there movie and comics. Because we're either gonna get a story we already know with an ending we can already guess or we're gonna see the comics and movie be, well, wrong. Horribly, horribly wrong.
I hope I'm wrong and there's still plenty to explore here, but I don't see what and I don't see how.Last edited by Darkmoon; 02-24-2009, 03:21 AM.

Spoiler:
No one got off the fucking colony alive and so you know the woman's dead before you insert the damned disc.
Rails, goddamn you have an awesome console with motion control controllers and what do we get? Rail-Gun shooters
Why did I actually buy the Wii? Oh right UC, damnit
As for Dead Space, loved the presentation, controls, atmosphere of the game. Everything was spot on with the game. I even go back to play the game now after I already have all the achievments... Impossible wasn't really that hard...without the stasis-cheat....
Give that game rails now that would kill the controls completely, takes a lot away from the atmosphere (enemies suddenly appearing behind you, etc.), and the presentation, aside from shooting, action, etc., always lacks in rail-gun shooters for me. Besides if it takes place on the colony there is no reason to play it at all since this plot has been covered in the animated comics already. So it's a 'cool, but no thanks' case for meLast edited by Scott Green; 02-24-2009, 04:05 AM.
