  • Chinatown Wars leaked!

Oh noes... bad for Rockstar, but good for me. I've fully paid off my pre-order so I feel I have a right to be playing a slightly glitchy version of the game before it's released.

It's fucking amazing. 1000% better than GTAIV. This is actually fun.

I've made a small gameplay video. Mind you, I'm much further into the game than when I recorded this.

    CTW gameplay

how's this bad for capcom ?

also, i'm pretty sure the mods aren't going to like this topic dude. Even if you've paid your pre-order.

        Whoops, I meant Rockstar.

But hang on, if I've paid the full $70 for the game, then I'm practically owning it. Right?

Wrong. You may have paid for the game but that doesn't mean you can walk into the factory making them and grab the disc, waving you recipt in the air. 'Practically' and 'actually' are quite far apart.

          About a ban apart, interestingly.

Obviously people who laugh about people who got seriously burned at campfires would adore this game. It's just that kind of game.

I never got Liberty and Vice city stories on the PSP. I don't think GTA belongs on a handheld in the 1st place. It's too epic to be put on a handheld...

I haven't played this yet so i can't judge, but i can tell you my expectations of it are low. It'll get rave reviews but the fun will wear off after about a month, just like every other GTA game.

Well you're missing out then. I can't speak for Chinatown Wars, but both LCS and VCS had as much content as GTA3 and GTA Vice City respectively. In any case, both titles were ported to the PS2 eventually.

Chinatown Wars reminds me a lot of the original GTA, and that was filled with more content than most of the 3D editions.

Out of curiousity, won't capcom be distributing this in Japan and Asian territories?

I don't understand why there's such a stigma surrounding the DS and the Wii on these boards.

BURN HIM! HE'S A WITCH! BURN THE WITCH!

Seriously though, I don't get it either. DS is a wonderful platform, as is the Wii, although the latter needs much more hardcore targeted games in my opinion. Then again, those games sell like shit compared to the shovelware, so why bother.

For me, the DS is a fine platform, but sometimes it gets a little too ambitious and creates something that really would have been so much better on a console. As for the Wii, it is and always ways a gimmick, and that's all it should ever be treated as. Putting stuff like Samba De Amigo on it was exactly what the console was for, stupidly fun party style games. When something serious goes to the Wii, it just doesn't work. If you don't believe me, play a third person action game that's on both the Wii and 360/PS3 and every time the 360/PS3 will win. What's starting to happen now is the Wii is getting some exclusives that really shouldn't be tailored for it. Take for example the RE2 remake we're getting. When we screamed out for one for the last few years we never would have expected them to hear that as "Oh you want us to remake it as a first person shooter, because you loved the Survivor series so much and the strongest out of those was of course Survivor 2:Code Veronica!". It just shouldn't have happened, the game should have been a proper remake on proper consoles, not a quick remake for a gimmick console. And there are other games that fall into that category too, original game and remake. So, rant over, i've explained my feelings on the DS/Wii hate situation
