Not too keen on Extraction, the fact that it's a rail gun shooter will make it more action orientated and lessen the scare factor. Part of what made the original game so unnerving was the eerie silence in the atmosphere, you could hear things moving around in the vents but you never saw them until they decided to ambush you.

Kendra was a bitch though. I'm very glad that she got killed. Horribly. I liked Hammond, but again it's a shame that he died too. In an equally grisly fashion. I was really hoping that he would survive.

but it's a spin off isn't it? so it doesn't really matter, and Dead Space 2 is still horror.

i agree Hammond was cool too, i liked him, and yeah Kendra was a bitch but i liked her character, she was evil and double crossing but i liked her for some reason.

Cant wait for Dead space 2!! Im going to get the limited edition(if there is one). I guess extraction will help us zoom through the time. haha

So how many of you guys have seen Dead Space Downfall ? Opinions ?

It was a decent movie, fills in the story questions prior to the game just fine. I don't recall any characters from it being mentioned in the actual game.

I was able to play up to chapter 6 or 7 at my friend's house. Definitely a gem, released at the right time, hopefully this will clear up the horror game drought. I wish the rippers from the movie were in the game. They were definitely overpowered.

Downfall and the comics were both fun. It would have been nice if they could agree on some things, like some bits of script were differently worded and the whole thing with monsters being unable to approach the Marker. Other than that it was fun.

And there are a couple of character mentions in the movie...the most obvious being Kyne. Of course, one of the scientists rescued (the one who gets asked if she has a boyfriend) is supposed to be Nicole...

Yea...Dead Space is sad. I sold my copy as soon as I beat it for money issues but I still have the full intention of buying it back once the sequel is near. Necromorphs...great concept.
