Such a let down expansion pack. Doesn't keep any of the new guns or monsters from Half life: Opposing Force, and has not only nothing new, but less guns and monsters than the original Half Life. And the finale is such an anti climax... Absolutely terrible game
Wut? I loved Blue Shift. Short and sweet. I can do it in a few hours. I actually appreciated it's simplistic nature, and it was a good example of an expansion pack. I didn't think the ending was TOO anti-climatic, it was a bit tense when you thought Barney would be forever paralysed, but when everything was well, it was good to know he got out.

Opposing Force was totally epic, if not a bit too hard. First few times I played it through, I gave up at the dark tunnels where you have to use night vision, because I kept getting killed by those massive spider-thingos-that-shoot-pink-electricity fuckers that take a shitload of bullets to take down. The ending of OF was satisfying though

One thing I noticed in the ending of Blue Shift was the scene was slightly changed between the Steam version and original CD version. In the CD version, there's a random scientist banging on the gate with a crowbar, obviously trying to break the lock. In the Steam version, he opens the gate and the 4WD goes through. Trivial, but cool

SpiderMan 3 was a decent game. There's an element of fun in all the SpiderMan games because you can swing around and have fun.

Worst game ever: Shadowgate on the NES. I played it when I was a kid and didn't know what the hell I had to do. I played it again fairly recently, still never knew what the hell I had to do.

I remember back in the days so many Resident Evil rip-offs came out and I was feeling like I had to play all of them. Countdown Vampires and Deep Freeze (I think this one has never been released in english) were terrible. I was expecting so much from Countdown Vampires...

I generally thought all of Half-Life 1 was better done than Half-Life 2.

I loved the whole thing with how the expansions were all contained within the same events over the same time frame (which reminds me; anyone know how the homemade PC port of Decay turned out?)

I've only really ever enjoyed 3 Vampire games; Blood Omen 2, BloodRayne 2 and Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness. (The Castlevania series in general is quite good). Most other vampire games are generally cheesy and suckish. I never really played many RE rip offs, at the time I was mainly a Nintendo gamer and I only played RE because of a recommendation. After that it was just more RE games. A lot of people don't like Castlevania 64 or Legacy of Darkness but it's my favourite one.

It's a very good game and stands as proof that stands as proof that all the best games aren't rated M.

Anyway, there are games in this thread that can't possibly be conceived as the worst ever. Overhyped? Definitely. Not worth playing? Definitely. Not to your taste? Definitely. But some of the choices are baffling, games that're often so highly places in top 100s all the time.

Worst game i've ever played myself was Alone In The Dark from last year, an utterly terrible, and downright broken game. I was so hyped for it pre-release, was expecting something very special. In the end, it cost me two controllers. Eden should be ashamed of themselves for letting it out of the door.

Let me rephrase that. Most of the best games are rated M. There are a few exceptions.

Castlevania 64 (+Legacy of Darkness) is pretty awesome. But I can totally see why some (most) people don't like it.

Anyway, it's also by far the best of the 3D Castlevanias and certainly more preferable and enjoyable than the countless Symphony of the Night clones they've been doing.

Wow, a lot of Sonic hate. The series has been a bit sucky but everything up to SA2: Battle was great I thought.

Agree with Devil May Cry 2, sucky when compared to the others. DMC4 was DMC2 done right I thought.

I can't really think of any really bad games. I remember this old PS1 one called Necronomicon or something that sucked some major donkey balls. Couldn't get past the first ten minutes, no idea how it expected me to play through two discs.

                        DMC4 was awful.

FINALLY. I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thought so.

DMC4 and 2 were both done wrong. DMC4 had very fun gameplay and it's enjoyable to play, however it lacked the basic gothic feel of the first three and it had no story whatsoever. DMC2 on the other hand, its gameplay wasn't as fun and it had no story but it captured the gothic feel of the games. DMC1 and DMC3 are epic games and I hope Capcom book their ideas up on the DMC front and give us a worthy sequel. DMC4 to me is the RE4 of the DMC universe, fun to play but barely relevant with little story.

Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness is brilliant, it has a great nostalgic effect on me (same for Castlevania 64), and my favourite of the Castlevania series. Most Castlevania fans or general gamers I've spoken to all hate it.

the worst that "I" ever played was somewhere between Powerstone and Ty the tasmanian tiger. I mean all you do is go around and throw boomerangs.

One of the worst games I ever played is Excalibur on the PS1.
