  • I'm just waiting till they all come out.. not really happy how they space out the releases so much and usually there's not much to them anyway.

    • I have one save that's at Level 33 or 34 which is a bit ways into the DLC. Haven't finished it though since I started my Hardcore campaign which isn't too hard. I gotta say the H2O and the food an sleep hasn't really bothered me yet and I think I'm gonna hit level 21 soon.

I think during this play through I cared about sleep early on, now, I just stock up on Nuka Cola next to a free water source and I don't need to sleep O_O (just like in real life).

      • Next DLC is out on Tuesday - I'll start my new game then as each expansion is going to add 5 new levels and apparently it takes awhile to level up. Too bad PS3 users will be screwed over again!

Edit: Found this cool site http://www.falloutnewvegastour.com/ - good comparison with the real Mojave desert.

          • To be honest I preferred the environments more in Fallout 3, since you could walk through the ruins of Washington D.C. I thought that was fantastic. New Vegas? Eh, everything looks more or less okay.
            See you in hell.

            • Sand....what do you do with sand? It's like a turd, you can polish it all you like it's still a turd. If anything a nuclear blast would have made Vegas like a giant sheet of glass.

              • The Mojave and Capital Wasteland both have their positive points. As for which one is better, it depends on how one feels at the time they play.. I do like the overall feel of the Wasteland, the Washington DC ruins were OK but I thought they ruined it by having slightly too much zoning and subway access points.

With the Mojave I do enjoy my nights out in the desert, just camping out and stuff.. though it does have a few tedious areas like the great khan hideout.

                • i think New Vegas was easily the better game because it stayed more true to its Fallout roots than Fallout 3 did. its just that the game was still released on a piece of shit engine. and there hardly was a story to it. i mean seriously, there was only like maybe 6-8 main missions and that was it (or more depending on who's side you accepted).

                    • Just a small update for those who play Fallout on the PC (aimed at Scream), there's some excellent content mods out there for FNV now, and some great graphic mods to go with it. I got to thank the thread via gaf for pointing these out. Enjoy!

                      • Oddly enough I was just playing a few minutes ago (sometimes load it up in-between things) - seems so easy now even on very hard! I took note of the A World of Pain mod before but wanted to do one more vanilla run with the dlc. Though I'm disappointed by some of the comments about anti-material rifles in Goodsprings, geez.. no curve at all..

I like that revelations interface mod too...

I have been modding more than playing, its great fun... I think NV still has a lot of life left in it and until a year after the final version of the mods come out, its a good platform to work on. Though saying that, I am looking forward to what Fallout 4 will bring to the table with the creation engine.. and if it sucks, well at least I always have NV to fall back on.

I can't wait for Fallout 4 myself, given that it will be from the updated mechanics (and heavily engine overhauls) engine from Skyrim, it will definitely be something to look forward to (and the mods to come with that).

I've got all the mods I want to play in now to start my new run so it's time to have a blast!

                          • Hopefully it doesn't crash much for you with those extra mods (or make the game too unbalanced). Did you ever check out FOOK2 on FO3? Good example of a well-balanced mod and the weapons curve is good - no assault rifles and stuff till you really get into the game.

I've just won big time in a few casinos and got some implants, now I'm about to destroy the underground bunker and side with Caesar this time (it will be good for the Mojave to go back to basics for awhile ) .. then hopefully I can find some dlc stuff to do, I've only listened to the radio broadcasts so far.

                            • In the middle of playing Dead Money.. takes some time to get used to as you lose your equipment, a new "currency" is introduced, and the area is separated from the mainland.
It feels like a survival horror game, its a very dark DLC but not in the style of The Pitt.. more like RE4.. Overall I like it! I think this DLC will be better than Honest Hearts/Old World Blues but of course need to play those first ;)

Though it has more emphasis on melee/unarmed combat (at least in the initial stages) which wasn't good news to my explosive/shotgun build (which is frigging awesome by the way). I wouldn't go there until around level 18-20 and make sure you have some melee if your at that stage (I went in at around 24 with absolutely no melee).

                                I sense great fear.
