Limited/Special Editions of Videogames

I have always been fascinated by Limited/Special Editions of videogames. Please share which ones are worth getting and which ones are not.

Devil May Cry 4 (NTSC-U) Limited Edition
MGS 3 Subsistence (NTSC-U) Limited Edition
MGS 4 (NTSC-U) Limited Edition
Resident Evil 5 (PAL) Limited Edition

I can clearly say that Devil May Cry 4 (US) version wasn't worth the money. I had already watched (and hated the anime), behind the scenes DVD was less than 10 minutes long. However preorder artbook wasn't bad despite being mini sized.

MGS 3 Subsistence Limited Edition has additional movie disc which enables you to watch the cutscenes of the game like it is a movie. Worth getting for sure

MGS 4 Limited Edition has extra blu-ray with behind the scenes documentary which is pretty good plus has a sontrack CD and different packing than regular edition which features Yoji Shinkawa's artwork (a rarity for US MGS games)

Resident Evil 5 Limited Edition Tin (UK) has the best behind the scenes documentary about a videogame ever. It is way better than Metal Gear Solid 4's behind the scenes Blu-Ray. I couldn't believe it when a friend told me so but I certainly agree with him. That edition and the documentary is a sure winner

Well, I got the RE5 US Collector's Edition and it's pretty awesome.

I do have the FFXII Collector's Edition though (got it for $17 used at GameStop XD). I like the DVD that it comes with...

I got the Limited Edition hardcover RE5 guide, too. Two, in fact. One to use and one to keep. It's beautiful. XD

As for other CE/LEs... I don't think I've gotten any. Hm.

The RE5 is far and away the best CE I've seen.

Well, when it gets over here to the US (and assuming they make it) I'm definitely going to be getting the special edition of Gyakuten Kenji, or Perfect Prosecutor when it gets here. I'm a huge fan of the Ace Attorney series

The main reason I bought the RE5 CE was for the BSAA patch. We're going to be producing more patches for BSAA Chris and BSAA Agent cosplays.

Hmm, I just realized, I've only ever bought one Limited Edition --



It came with a 'Making-Of' Blu-Ray and the Official Soundtrack. And let me tell you...the soundtrack made it worth it.

i own duplicates of Oblivion (i gave the open one away though) and FFXII. the rest of the "editions" are pretty much sealed (except for Majora's Mask - even though it says "collector's edition" on it, its actually sold ONLY that way)

Oblivion's was entertaining, it was fun watching it. but its been almost 3 years since i last watched the dvd so can't tell you much - hell, can't remember it at all now that i think about it.

i haven't watched FFXII's dvd in a while either, but from what i remembered it gives a compilation history from FF1 on the Nes, up to FFXI. so it was pretty cool dvd i thought. plus, it had english/ japanese trailers of the game as well.

forgot i also have the MGS3: Limited Edition

its the same as Subsistence, but it comes with a 3rd disc that lets you watch all the cutscenes "edited" into a movie-like feature. also contained 1 early teaser/ trailer of MGS4.

I do love limited editions, and I will continue to buy them
