Yeah that's Resident Evil 2 beta 2..I used Imgburn and made an .iso then ran it through PSX2PSP to make it playable.

I'm still getting up to speed on all of the firmware stuff, is that the only one it will run on? Or will it run on 5.0?

Any PSP 1000 or 2000 can run CFW up to whatever version/s is currently out. I still use my 1001 model with 5.00 m33-6. Nothing beats being able to put an entire set of UMD games and take them on the go with you. Currently playing Star Ocean First Departure right now. I used to own a 1000 model but I broke the screen.

I've heard that the popsloader on 5.xx has the best compatibility for all PSX games but 3.80-5 is a very stable build, basically any M33 firmware will get you started from there I'd just look for features of each version.

I hear that I'm on my 4th PSP. My first 3 were 1000 models, two of them were broke at work falling out on cement at a construction site and the third I traded toward the slim...

Wow, I'm still on my 1st 1000 that I've had since the second week of US release.

I had to replace the analog stick once, but other than that it's been flawless.

I have a 2000 (Slim/Lite) model in Piano Black. I bought it namely so that I could play the Metal Gear AC!D games again, which are fantastic. I hope they release a third game. Other than that, I'm tempted by Resistance: Retribution - which A-J convinced me to get with his rather in-depth review.
                  See you in hell.

I upgraded my firmware to M33 5.00-6 today and am pleasantly surprised to see interlace video support for the PSX games ( well most of them ). The auto USB connection is nice too.

good ol 1000 model. I'm guessing the battery still sucks on the newer models?

I upgraded to the 5.50 firmware today on my 2000 series. Any way to downgrade it and put custom firmware on there? I wanna play PS1 games.

Also, since there's no L2 and R2 buttons, how the hell can you use them in the games that need them?

PSP Slim 2000, Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core Silver limited edition one.

                            Front, Back

Still running the official firmware, I'm thinking about getting the PSP Slim 3000, Final Fantasy: Dissidia limited edition one otherwise I might get a plain Piano Black model and do a Resident Evil design on it.

Helegad, you can actually assign buttons or button combos to replace the L2 and R2 buttons in the PSX emulators and/or CFW for the PSP. It just depends what you use. I also have to second A-J's comment about the Syphon Filter games (Dark Mirror, Logan's Shadow).... awesome games, I can't decide which one I enjoyed more.

they're assigned to the D-pad's. With the newer version of POPS (built in PS1 emulator) you can remap every single key to your desire.

but PS1 games very rarely utilize the L2 and R2 buttons (MGS), so it's really not an issue.
