  • localization of final fnatasy 13 might no be that far of from asia release

gamespot just posted an article from UK gaming site videogamer and Yoshinori Kitase stated that text localizations and voice acting in english have already started to minimalize the lag between Jp US and Eu release dates of final fantasy XIII.

if tihs affects the american 360 release is unknown as a north american square enix representative could not be reach as of press time

Well, previously they said the Xbox 360 version would be put into full development once the localization work started.

the base engine is cross platform so the actual "putting it on 360" process shouldn't be that time consuming. But if they've begun the localization, i can imagine the 360 port is already well underway as well.

I'll believe it when I see it *as in a decent timed PAL release, im sure most people if they can afford it will import the US version like I will on the PS3*

Yeah, there's still a good too many of the big companies that don't quite understand the fact that the world isn't the same as in the late 90s and that international localization is a tad bit of a necessity.

With today's patching possibilities and stuff too, I don't really see Europe getting any form for exclusive content as a "thanks for waiting" either.

Anyway, they'll probably rush the European version(s) into development whenever they feel the English one is ready to go. 'cause knowing Square-Enix, as with many other game companies, they probably want all international versions to use the final English script as source content instead of doing their own take on the Japanese original script.
