OMG, after that trailer I thought they were finally going to release it. Someone else needs to acquire the franchise and get the job done for once.

I'll wait for E3 or until the end of the year to decide if Duke Nukem Forever will be dead, considering that it could likely be picked up by another publisher to release the game, considering recent blog posts about its production going along fine...

im just glad 3d realms is gone. they are without a doubt THE laziest developers ever. we should not have to wait 12 years for a gaem. no game has ever taken that long, not even a final fantasy title.

3D Realms is shutting down according to a report on Shacknews that's confirmed by a post on the 3D Realms Forums by Joe Siegler, who says: "It's not a marketing thing. It's true. I have nothing further to say at this time." 3D Realms has been otherwise silent on this topic so far, but publisher Deep Silver and newly formed Apogee are unaffected by the news, as they say: "Deep Silver and Apogee Software are not affected by the situation at 3D Realms. Development on the Duke Nukem Trilogy is continuing as planned." According to Shack the closure is due to funding issues, and they have a statement from Take Two who claim to still own publishing rights to Duke Nukem Forever, but that they have not been funding development of 3D Realm's flagship game.
                  Yay.

what the fuck, they just said like a few months ago that they have reached a milestone in developing of this game and now they drop out.

Can't believe anyone cares. The game'll inevitably suck so bad anyway!

Sad. I think Treyarch should do it, good first person developers.

It's not about being a good first person developer or not. Duke Nukem 3D (haven't played DN1 and 2) was all about that specific cheesy atmosphere, Duke's one-liners, hookers, pig cops that you could shrink down and step on, aliens...

Well they could always get a cheesy writer, but you still want the actual game to be good Yea, it would be a shame to lose those elements that made duke...well, duke. That last trailer seemed like it was really going to have the oldschool feel to it though, is it the same VA?

The Duke Nukem game that stuck out most for me was Duke Nukem 64. Me and my old buddies would have hours of fun playing multiplayer. I'm tempted to get the game on 360 even though I have Duken 3D on my PC. 3D Realms made a lot of great games its a shame to see them go.
