Hideo Kojima's New Project

People are saying the Mask (non-broken) is very similar to a mask you have to aquire in Snatcher to enter the nightclub Outer Heaven. I have Snatcher around here somewhere so will check it out at some point.

So possibly hinted at a Snatcher Remake. Which to be honest Kojima has always hinted at, given the Project S stuff that happened a couple of years ago - and the Snatcher Radio Play.

I don't think that small of a hint would lead to a Snatcher remake or a continuation, and besides that's completely wrong anyway. You have the choice of (at least in the Sega CD version) a mummy mask and an Easter Island mask (I chose the latter, lol). However, HOWEVER, the symbolic idea of a mask (especially the image of one tearing away) is sort of integral to the Snatcher menace. That's all I got.

It would be shit for Sunny to become the ninja, because by the end of MGS4, she's no longer troubled. She goes outside, appreciates the sun and nature, and sort of befriends a native boy. It would kill me if Kojima turns his back on that development, as if every character with a shady past becomes a killing machine, and every positive resolution is fleeting.

Just like Raiden was at the end of MGS2, he was gonna to "pick his own name and his own life", to teach children about "the environment, our ideas, our culture... poetry... compassion... sorrow... joy... We'll tell them everything... together."... And then he run away, left Rose alone and became a cyborg ninja because he couldn't forget his troubled past.

But I really don't see Sunny as another badass ninja :/. It would be totally out of her character.

Question is why couldn't Kojima just tell a new story within the universe and leave all the character he gave complete and utter closure to with MGS4?

There are other stories you could tell, within MGS without having any of the original cast participate. It's ridiculous - what was the point in making MGS4's hour long ending give everyone that featured within a final curtain just to say - actually let's go again.
