  • Terminator Salvation Game Thread

Who has it? Does it tie into the movie? How well? Does it set it up for the next movie? Is it worth buying? Etc.
Are there any of the movie characters in the game?

Easy platinum. Very simple achievements/trophies. Apparently, the gameplay is like a poor man's Gears of War.
    See you in hell.

Well i knew it was not going to be great most of the terminator's games are shit I'll most likely be renting the game just to get the platinum trophie.

It has the worst health system I have ever experinced in my more than 20 years of gaming plus the loading times are hair rising. 0 replay value. No collectibles/no extras. Easy achievement/trophies though

So...does it tie into the movie? Are any of the movie characters in it? Is the game stand alone or does it open the series for the 5th movie? I plan on getting it but I just need to know what I am getting into. crappy health system? Nothing cheats cannot fix. Look at RE 5, worse plot in RE history and upgrading weapons is a chore, but yet it is still played.

re4 easily had a dumber plot than re5, but that's a discussion for another time.
I haven't been keeping tabs on this game at all, though i'm dubious of it for obvious reasons - Movie to Game adaptations et al.

              It's also stupidly short.

Definitely one of the better Bond games.

Unfortunately for Bond, thats not really saying much.

                      -

I wanted to try Terminator: S game out, but I dont think the game deserves a chance, considering that this thread shows that theres not a single redeeming feature.

Not seen the Terminator game in action, but it runs on Diesel, at least (GRIN's proprietary engine, which in its most recent iteration shined brightly in Wanted and Bionic Commando + BC:Rearmed)

Game's probably your everyday typical movie tie-in with some good ideas thrown on top of it in a passable execution (but nothing you'd probably want to queue up for a midnight launch of or anything, but probably just as playable as most of the other overhyped stuff out there)

And @Westwood's Blade Runner "only" one of the greatest games ever made.
As for Bond games? Goldeneye, The World is Not Enough and Everything or Nothing were at least pretty good games (though, Everything or Nothing wasn't based on a movie)

Throw around the few exceptions all you want, 9 out of 10 times movie-games are absolute fail.
