  • Batman Arkham Asylum Collectors Edition

This might be old news to some, but i've just found out that the next Batman game which comes out on the Xbox 360 and PS3 in June, is going to have a collectors edition, along with the usual standard. The price for it is £60 in the UK, so something along those lines for europe. The U.S is set to pay out $100for it
Most collectors editions only come with a metal case or just a silly making of the game dvd, but Batman comes with none other then a....BATARANG.. Also you get a 48 page book on the imates of Arkham, the must have dvd *blu ray for ps3 buyers) of the making of the game lol and a nice little case/box to store it all in.
I must say I love the Batarang even more because you get a stand with it, which you would be able to display with pride ;)
So who would be buying this, I sure will be. Give reasons for why you wouldn't and if anyone thinks this is a waste of money.

Personally, I don't bother with collectors editions in most cases. This will be one of those which I'm not gonna bother with. Why shell out that much money for something you can find on ebay or Amazon for 10x cheaper? (in regards to the Batarang, anyways)

And the book about the Arkham inmates? I can just wiki them and get that information just as easily.

To me, it just seems a waste.

I would if I had the money, simply because this game looks epic.

I'll probably spring for it, with the help of some trade-ins. That, and as a prop collector the Batarang is seriously cool.

Armored Batsuit = badass = want.

Oh, aaaaand, Kevin Conroy as the voice of Batman and Mark Hamil as the Joker? Total win. It's going to be total nostalgia listening to those two in those roles again...

Edit #3: Looks like they're bringing back almost the entire cast of Batman: The Animated Series.

Downloaded this last night for X-Box. Best game i've played this year? Most definitely. In fact it might even be the best game i've played in many years!

Best boss fights since Resident Evil 4 also.

Good blend of puzzles, combat and investigation too. Excited for the sequel already.

I knew you'd like it. Had I known you were considering playing it or wondering about it, I would have piped up a long time ago and let you know it was a game that is on par with Uncharted.

Such a shame that batarang in the CE was a steaming pile of crap for such a great game. That said, I'll probably shell out for the CE of City - hopefully they learnt their lesson from the backlash.

See the weird thing is...i played the demo went it was released and couldn't enjoy it, just didn't find it fun at all! Dropped £15 on it on Games On Demand because so many of my friends had raved about it - can't believe how wrong i'd got it first time!

Been hammering through the collectibles and riddles today, just hit 70%. Think it does well in that the collectible side of the game still remains fun - though i do think it could've restocked on the enemies a bit more!

                            LOVING the challenge maps also.

That complete challenge maps combat achievement/trophy is one of the hardest things I've done in recent years. Some people find the freeflow combat a breeze, others impossible... I was somewhere in between. Took me a couple of months on and off to complete the two Shock And Awe maps which I had left till last, they were the hardest overall due to the timer, small space, and number of weapon equipped enemies (plus the gun locker).

Even though I was so frustrated with them by the end because of how often I'd played them, I'd still now go back and play the maps and the others from the GOTY for fun... which says just how damn good the gameplay is.
